I will also be back for S2. Thought it was pretty good.

Having just watched the season finale of Outsiders, I'll say I really enjoyed this first season. The show quickly submerges itself within this world of the Mountain and the town it looms over. Its not hard to get intrigued and interested in the Mountain's people and culture. The characters (Asa, Gwen, Little Foster, Hansel) are all intriguing and complex. You get to know them pretty quickly, without immediately understanding their agendas and motivations. Gwen is probably the most difficult to figure out. All the way up til the finale, I was trying to understand her actions and agendas. I do really love her character though. She's strong and tough, willing to sacrifice, and unpredictable. Asa is also something of mystery. He ran away from the Mountain years earlier, but for still somewhat vague reasons has now returned with renewed believe in the Mountain way of life. Now he just wants to have a place there again. Little Foster is probably the most cut an dry. He a loyal gentle soul, desperate for his father's approval, But ultimately his goodhearted nature puts him at odds with Big Foster's lust for power.

The bumbling cop was at first very off-putting, but I promise he'll grow on you once he sobers up. He's surprisingly funny.

Overall, I really enjoyed the first season. This show is different from most other things on TV right now. I'd compare it to a toned down Game of Thrones. Part political drama, part family drama. A little violence, a little romance. Good writing, very good acting.

I'll be back for season 2.

      I suggest you give it a try.moreless
