  • Quotes

    • Manmeet: Todd, the computers are frozen. There was an hourglass, but now there's a frowny face.
Todd: Is a frowny face worse than an hourglass?
Manmeet: Who knows, there's no logic, man. It's like your game Rock, Paper, Scissors, where paper miraculously defeats rock.
Todd: No, Manmeet, paper covers rock. It's like, ... you know what, I'm not having this conversation again. I'm going to have to call tech support.
Manmeet: OK, I mean, If you had a choice between paper and rocks, whoever heard of an angry mob wielding paper? Unless the paper was on fire. Yeah, even then, just hit them with the rocks.

    • Rajiv: (trying to think of creative ways to propose to Vimi) The sun is going down, we take a walk on the beach, I pretend to notice a bottle washed ashore.
Todd: The note inside says: Will you marry me?
      Rajiv: We meet for champagne.
Todd: The ring is the glass.
Rajiv: I buy her her favorite chocolates.
      Todd: The ring is inside.
      Rajiv: Dammit!

    • Vimi: What's going on?
Rajiv: I wanted to surprise you. I'm supposed to be in my suit and on a white horse. Please, pretend this night never happened and I will surprise you some other time. You deserve a special proposal.
Vimi: Rajiv, you're half-naked, covered in colored powder standing in my front yard. (smiles) This will be a great story for our kids.
Rajiv: Kids? Is that a yes?
Vimi: Yes yes to what? You haven't asked me anything yet!

  • Allusions

    • Some demon king wanted his son to take over the demon family business, I don't know. Bottom line is, it's a big celebration. Everybody pelts each other with color so we all look the in a big show of brotherhood.

Charlie is referring to the Hindu holiday of Holi - the festival of colors - which celebrated on Sunday, March 20th, three days after this episode aired. Holi is the second most important festival of India after Diwali. The holiday is indeed celebrated by people throwing colored powder and water at each other.

One of the legends behind the holiday is that the demon-king Hiranyakashipu became arrogant and demanded that people start worshiping him. Despite this, his son Prince Prahlad remained a devotee of Lord Vishnu. After failing in a series of attempts to kill his son, he asked his sister Holika to take Prahlad in her lap and enter a blazing fire. Holika had earned a boon to remain unburned even inside fire and she did her brother's bidding. Prahlada also readily accepted his father's orders, and prayed to Vishnu to keep him safe. When the fire started, everyone watched in amazement as Holika burnt to death, while Prahlada survived unharmed. The burning of Holika is celebrated as Holi and the celebrations officially usher in spring, the celebrated season of love.

    • Rock, Paper, Scissors
Manmeet is referring to the famous hand game in which paper covers rock, rock blunts or breaks scissors and scissors cut paper.
