  • Todd takes the team on a retreat, but even though his intentions are good, things start off on the wrong foot with a broken down train and tension between the workers. Meanwhile, Tonya and Charlie bond as she helps him ask women out on datemoreless

This episode was one of the funniest ones I've seen this season, with more than a handful of true laugh out loud moments. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the focus on Tonya and Charlie. They truly have good chemistry between them (strictly platonic, of course) and I look forward to seeing more of those two. I can definitely see how they can become a more integral part of the cast, because together they can be quite funny.

However, the workers themselves were hilarious in this episode- Gupta and his horse stories, Madhuri's "bird sound", Todd trying to board the train, Rajiv and his advice... overall, mostly everyone was great this episode.

More Charlie/Tonya and Madhuri action please!!moreless

In this episode, Todd suggests an office retreat from the stresses brought about by their work and proposed an outing that offered nature's best: hiking, horseback riding and a picnic. Little did he know, the time allowance he set up for the activity wasn't enough as even the simplest task of getting on the train needed skill and determination-- something newcomers to the culture of India would be both delighted and surprised to discover. As always, it was hilarious watching him struggle to understand everything around him! I admit that I find people undergoing Culture Shock very entertaining to watch. And for that, he gets to wipe his face on the armpit of a man who, let's just say, "didn't like bathing". Probably the first real laugh I've had for this show!

It was refreshing to see the characters out of the office and into a new area (although they never did get to the park, the train was still a new area). It was a good episode as it focused more on the workers' relationship with each other and how this affects the workplace and the office as a whole. I was honestly growing tired of Todd and Tonya, Asha and Todd, Charlie and Todd as it allowed very little time for the development of the other characters who, I think, are very lovable ones! They really need more screen time. It's great to see this show improve, albeit in very slow strokes.moreless

  • QUOTES (2)

    • (discussing the retreat)
Pinky: Will we be forwarding calls?
      Todd: To where, Pinky?
      Pinky: The woods.
Todd: No, no, we're not gonna do any work. That is the beauty of a retreat. It's a boondoggle.
      Manmeet: What is a boondoggle?
Todd: Well, it's like going through the motions of work, but really just having a good time. It's like fake working.
Rajiv: Here we call it pulling a Todd. (Todd glares at him)

    • (looking at the retreat brochure)
Asha: This river looks so beautiful.
Madhuri: I wish I could bring my laundry.
