Help us to get fx to air second season or give us the first and second season on dvd.

I'm sorry...But I was over there also. In 91 and in 2003. And "OVER THERE" is by far NOT what is going on over there. As for your Friend, Did he see all the episodes? How about the First one where it showed the soldier sparking up a Blunt while on duty? I guess not. How about the Nick Names? No one uses nick names. "Double wide??" Say that to a female and your ass will be hembed up with Sexual Harassment charges faster than you can say, "Mrs B!"

Maybe your friend should just watch more than one episode. He'll change his mind with a quickness.

    Good ridens to Trash.

    [QUOTE="SSGRivera
How about the Nick Names? No one uses nick names.[/QUOTE]

In the book Black Hawk Down, many of the soldiers had nick names. "Chief Warrant Officer Wolcott was a funny guy whom everybody called Elvis because he affected the hair, walk and talk of his musical idol." Pfc. Richard Kowalewski, deceased, was called Alphabet because his last name was hard to pronounce. Master Sgt. Tim ''Grizz'' Martin, 38, a veteran Delta medic from Aurora Dearborn, Indiana, also deceased. IIRC, PFC Othic was called Little Hunter. I doubt that Mark Bowden would have taken the liberty to fabricate "nick-names" and suspect that like in the rest of the world, nick-names are given as terms of endearment by friends or derision by detractors.

I am currently over here and I could not agree with you more. That series was utterly appauling. Cheating wives, contempt of officers, psycho enlisted guys. My god, what do they think is going on over here and what do they think we are like? All the soldiers who think it is a great story...I have to ask....How much time did you actually spend outside the wire while they were "Over There"?

What ever you do, don't read "Killer Elite" an award winning series by Evan Write who was an embedded journalist during the assault on Iraq that was republished online by Rolling Stone Magazine.

    I agree with SSG Rivera!!!

My in-laws kept telling me what a great show it was, and since I spent 9 yrs in the Army, they thought I would like it.

    It was horrible...

Of all the people I met in the Army, I don't recall any of them using nicknames... Doublewide and Mrs B... cute... Sgt Scream!?! What a joke!!! Its obvious that no one on the set ever came anywhere near wearing a uniform... Even John Wayne wasn't this over the top.

Maybe things have changed in the past few years, but when I served, 2 females (a truck driver and a mechanic) would NEVER have been permanently attached to an infantry "squad"... heck, it wasn't even a squad -- 5 men??? Did they lose 1/2 their men and forget to get replacements?

I can't even begin to tell you what a pile of garbage this show was... I'm glad its been cancelled, as this is an affront to anyone who ACTUALLY SERVED!!!

Anyone who tells you this is what its really like, is full of it...

Well I am a wife of a 3rd ID soldier who was there during OIF I, II, and III. I have seen first hand wife's cheating when their husbands leave. And yes there is a great deal of the wifes getting together and drinking and crying, but ya know this is done on the weekends or during the summer when we don't have to get the kids to school.

As for what the soldier sees, my husband is an Ammunition Specialist and has seen more than his fare share of the front line. I am also an FRG Leader for the company, and yes there is quite a bit of the soldiers getting a little to friendly with other soldiers. If this is not true then how after 4 or 5 months of being deployed are we getting female soldiers sent home because they are 7+ weeks pregnant?

It is evident people are too "young" for this Tv Series. it's too early to show it, I had a great time watching to it...thx Bochco, it's impossibile that th example of the soldiers could show the reality of everybody you in the US in the real life, BUT how could you think that???Are you so obtuse?

These are examples some one could be near or the same to you, also in Jarhead they show that an husband in war during the first gulf war has been cheated and the wife sent him the VHS...this is humor, terrible humor but it is true!

So please do not be against this movie just because you hate it for unknown and with no base reasons! Just try to tell everybody that the movie stoke you, it is hard to admit it, tell the truth...the "reality" (cause we must say it's however a Tv Series so a movie not reality!) of Bochco cought you surprising you. This Tv Series must go on....

The show must goo on!!!! by Italy.
