Wow...this is really the 1st time I've seen FX cancel a show. I know this network cause of The Shield, and it lead me to Nip/Tuck and Rescue Me. It is really a fine network which produces quality shows, and Over There is 1 of them. It's cable...maybe they should have given it 1 more season to get the proper ratings...hai...

They need this kind of fresh blood...The Shield is going downhill...I hope the next season picks up with some better story.

Unless it's a publicity stunt to get more pple's attention on the show...I really think FX made a bad move. But everything's business in the world today...can't blame them...

I know this is an old post but I can think of numerous reasons that the show was canceled. First of all I enjoyed the show. I thought it was a unique experience for those interested in what is happening "Over There".
I never saw advertisement for the show except on FX.
The show also slowed down a bit, but that was for deeper explanations into the characters.
Personally I dont think that after one season there is enough time for the fanbase to grow.
Including all the time off in the U.S. how many more people do you think heard about the show?

I agree, I think it is ludicrous that they took one of the best, if not the best, show off the air. I am so upset about this. Fantastic Show. What the heck are the suits thinking, it's terrible.

I just saw the last episode and I finally see the squad coming together, ie their trust and respect (when Angel jokes with the sgt.). Then I come on to TV.com to check out the when the new season starts and see it's been canceled. Damn it!

M*A*S*H went for 10 years or something and that wasn't the greatest war show. Mabey one of the characters should have started cross dressing and the ratings might have picked up!

too bad. it was a great show. eric palladino (Sgt Scream) was outstanding. though a thoughtful and well done show, i think it still hits too close to home for some. my self included. probably part of the reason for the decline in ratings. i had a friend who was killed by a roadside bomb in iraq. the 1st episode kind of got to me. being a member of the military myself, i thought it was great to have a show that puts forth some of the situations american troops are put into.

I am very irritated at FX for doing this, I didn't even mind the late show time because with my scedule it is the only 'me' time I get. Everyone on the show finally gets somewhere and then... BAM ....FX lets it go....If not for nip/tuck and rescue me I would certianly never look at FX again!- until they cancel those too~!!

At least they ran it to the end. There were several of other "novel" type series that got cancelled in mid season.

To top over there being cancelled, this will also quite possibly be the last season for The Shield. I believe it IS a MUCH MUCH MUCH better show than Rescue Me, and Nip Tuck (which is just a dumb show if you ask me). But, I would love to see all of these shows continue on FX becuse it is good for the NETWORK. And in order they are...

    1. THE SHIELD - ABSOULUTE MUST SEE & HAVE DVDS
    2. Over There - MUST SEE
    3. Rescue Me - Meh
    4. Nip Tuck - I wouldnt mind it going away

But instead they are bringin in crap like Black White... yeah I will tune in to that garbage. And Theif, which does not look too bad, I may look in to it.

I cant believe they wont pick up over there for another season. That sucks.

its G.W.Bush and this bulls**t war that Over There got cancelled. the show reveled too much of the truth about the war. He dont want people to know the truth. i used to be a Bush supporter. i wish HBO would pick up the show and keep it going.
