Episode Summary

EDIT
All roads lead to solitary, and a season finale of cliffhangers commences as: Robson deals with his rejection by the Brotherhood by slicing his gums away with a razor blade. McManus arranges a parole hearing for Miguel. Glynn is outraged and tells the board of Miguel's many misdeeds. Miguel tries, but reaches his limit with a hateful inquisitor and beats him bloody, causing his 50th trip back to solitary. Gloria's guilt over Pancamo grows as he lapses into a coma. McManus tries to comfort her, telling her even doing one good thing, as he has with Omar, makes up for all the crap. Meanwhile, Omar overhears Schillinger telling Cutler, a new prisoner who wants to join the Brotherhood, that he has to kill Said for membership. Omar threatens Cutler in the storage closet, which leads to a fight and Omar nearly killing him. A betrayed, furious McManus sends Omar back to solitary. Tim's ex rages at him, his idealism, and his self-righteousness. Beecher's guilt leads him to come forward with news of Vern raping Winthrop and Guenzel, sending Vern to solitary with the help of corroborating witnesses and evidence. Beecher then defies Said and returns to Keller's arms (through cell bars). Keller is found guilty of murder and sentenced to death. Rebadow leaves Oz for the first time in over 35 years to visit his near-death grandson. When he returns, he goes on death watch, knowing the end has arrived when an electrical storm temporarily knocks out the power. As prepared as he was, Rebadow breaks down when he hears the news. He senses the hand of karma, since a power outage saved him from execution decades ago, and the power came back to short-circuit his grandson's machinery. As Murphy and Tim discuss his leaving Oz for the second time in a week for the funeral, Brass returns, offering to give Rebadow the money back. Both men can only stare at him. Busmalis is overjoyed when Norma sends a letter stating her plan to visit that very day. When he sees that she is pregnant, he walks out, crestfallen. Sister Pete and Suzanne continue their media blitz against Cyril's execution. Cyril is moved to death row and beats on several guards (with Keller's encouragement) when he realizes he's going to die. He is somewhat comforted when Pete brings his sock puppet. Meanwhile, Father Meehan searches for the cause of Ryan's bitterness and inability to fight for Cyril's life. He finally uncovers and confronts Ryan with the truth: Ryan and Cyril's father shook their baby sister Carolyn to death right in front of Ryan. Ryan breaks down in Meehan's arms, and decides to join the Cyril cause. He also tells his father that if he ever gets out of Oz, he'll kill him. Hill again promises Poet that he won't tattle on him, as Redding confesses to McManus that he isn't sure Guerra sold the drugs. Later, Redding admits his intense pain and guilt over sitting at a dinner table with Hill and his mother while he was feeding her son drugs and making him a pusher. Hill says he made his own choices, and Reddings says he had been so afraid of losing him. While this unfolds, Morales convinces default-Sicilian leader Urbano to kill Redding. Urbano crosses his path, preparing to stab him, but Hill wheels in front of his father figure, the blade cutting into him. As all of Em City reacts with shock and confusion, as Redding has to be restrained and a crying McManus rushes down to be near the mortally wounded man as he passes away. A final shot of an empty set, an empty chair where the narrator should be, indicates that Augustus Hill, the voice of Oz, is truly dead.moreless

Not Augustus!! Damn it :|. Why did he had to die?! Oz wouldn't be OZ without him... :(. And Keller will go too. It sucks! I have only one seasons left of this show. I will really miss it. So I guess I will see Keller in the right conditions. Because if it didn't end with the season 6, then it would really have sucked withou Keller and Augustus in it! Becheer is already boring so that couldn't happen. Maybe Schilinger will have a little evil play time or somehting. Anyway. The end of this season was extraordinary, the death of Augustus was very touching, especially with the 'I feel my legs' part. I was expecting Augustus to commit suicide (I don't know why) but I'm glad he died in a glorious way (defending his friend).

AND I really hope the next season will be at least at the level of the other 5 ones.moreless

  • QUOTES (14)

    • Keller: Do you think Jesus was a fag?

    • Lopresti: Your brand new home. It said the ghost of Shirley still haunts this cell. When the moon is full, you can still smell her vagina. (He starts sniffing)
Keller: You're a very funny guy Lopresti, you should think about doing comedy.

    • Sister Peter Marie: You only got two choices: electric chair or lethal injection.
Keller: The electric chair. I'll go with the juice.

    • O'Reily: I want to talk about Carolyn.
Seamus O'Reily: Carolyn? What about her?
O'Reily: I want to talk about the day she died. I remember her crying, you know, non-stop for what seemed like hours. Tessie couldn't get her quiet. You were drunk and in a foul mood. seamus stands up Sit down!
      Seamus: F**k you!
O'Reily: You sit ... or I finish telling my story to a cop. Carolyn was crying and you took her from Tessie's arms and you put your hands around her and you shook her and you shook her and you shook her until she stopped, until she went limp like a rag doll.
Seamus: She fell out of her crib.
O'Reily: No. I was there, Dad. I was in the doorway. I saw what happened.
Seamus: You were just a kid. What the f**k did you know about anything? Think my old man didn't beat me, that f**king scumbag? My life has been nothing but sh*t since the day I was born, and I didn't have no brother to lean on like you did. I been alone my whole f**king life, and soon ... you will be, too.
O'Reily: I'll never tell anyone the truth about what happened with Carolyn. That's between you and me. But, Dad...You better pray to Jesus Christ almighty himself that I never get out of this place, because when I do.....I will kill you.

    • O'Reily: Why you doing this?
Meehan: Well, I've seen how you love your brother, how you're protective of him, yet you're willing to let him die, and I was wondering why.
O'Reily I thought I told you this before. Death is better then any day in Oz.

    • Busmails: It's from Norma. Hey, Fiona, would you do me a favor? This letter is from my former fiancé. Would you mind reading it to me? Make me kind of feel like she's here in the room.
Zonioni: Hey, we all got our trip.

    • Dr Nathan: (to McManus) Don't talk to me about regret, I own the patent.

    • Dawkins: Alright, Mr. Alvarez, that was a very lovely speech you just made, but now we'd like to ask you some questions.
Alvarez: Mr. Dawkins, you can ask me whatever you want.
Sommers: You were convicted of beating a 75 year old man then cutting his face, all because his car scratched yours.
Alvarez: Yeah. I wasn't myself that day.
Sommers: Once you were in Oswald, you cut your own face, and later tried to hang yourself in your cell. Were you yourself either of those days?
Dawkins: Last year you masterminded an escape from Oswald.
Alvarez: I didn't mastermind an escape. Busmalis was digging a tunnel, and I was fearing for my life...
Ruiz: You were one of the major leaders in the riot and hurt a number of people, including an officer, Joseph Mineo.
Alvarez: He was making a move on me...
Ruiz: Later, you poked out the eyes of another Officer, Eugene Rivera. Then you murdered two fellow prisoners, Carlo Ricardo, and a Jorge Vasquez. So, my question is, what the f**k makes you think we should set you free, you little prick?
(Alvarez punches Ruiz in the face)

    • Poet: (to Robson) Oh, lookie here, my stepbrother. Feels good talking with a black man's gums don't it?

    • Yood: Hey Beecher, don't take any wooden nickels!

    • Augustus: Don't worry son. I ain't gonna rat you out. I wanted those drugs, doesn't matter who gave them to me. I'm gonna tell Burr that.
Poet: Aight! Thanks, man. You know, if I was a girl, you'd get tongue.
Augustus: If you was a girl son, you'd be butt-ass ugly.

    • (Keller has just returned from the court after been found guilty of murder)
Sister Pete: Well, I'll do... I'll do everything I can to help.
