    • Crime Flashbacks:

The cops bust in during a drug party and catch Bukowski trying to hide his vast supply of marijuana.

In a junkyard, Seamus O'Reily has a car dropped on an enemy.

Outside a club, Alonzo Torquemada throws acid in the face of a drag queen (this is the final crime flashback).

    • Prisoners featured

Stanley Bukowski, convicted January 16, 2003. Possession and Distribution of Illegal Substances. Sentence: 15 years, up for parole in 7. (prisoner # 03B563)

Seamus O'Reily, convicted February 6, 2003. Murder in the First degree. Sentence: 34 years, up for parole in 16. (prisoner # 03P138)

Alonzo Torquemada, convicted February 6, 2003. Assault in the first degree Sentence: 10 years, up for parole in 6. (prisoner # 03T323).

    • In this episode, Murphy implies that McManus is around 48 years old, but he can't be. In "A Game of Checkers" (the riot episode in the first season), McManus tells Said that he was 10 when the Attica prison riot happened. Attica happened in 1971, so when the Oz riot happened (1997), McManus had to be 36. Even with all the years that have passed in the series (1997-2003), McManus could never be around 48. His maximum age would have to be 42.

    • When Poet and crew are lamenting thier misfortune about not getting the proper brownie recipe from Bukowski before he was killed, you can see Alonzo Torquemada walking around in the background. This is in the first 7 minutes of the episode, but Torquemada doesn't even arrive at Oz until the last 20 minutes of that episode.

  • Quotes

    • Torquemada: Miguel Alvarez. I hear you're the man to know.
Alvarez: Whoever told you that was an idiot.

    • Schillinger: I head Cathy Jo visited again. That mean you signed all the property over to her?
      Alvarez: Not exactly.
Schillinger: It's either yes or no, Alvarez!
Alvarez: Or, it's not exactly. She isn't sure that she wants everything.
Schillinger: What the fuck does that mean?
Alvarez: I don't know. Says she wants more time. Give her time.
Schillinger: All right, just get it done!
Alvarez: Hey, I'm just doing what the widow wants. It's just like you asked. Jesus, you guys gotta calm down.

    • (Upon being told that he his HIV positive)
Robson: Promise you won't tell anyone. Not anyone.
Dr. Nathan: No, of course I won't.
      Robson: Files. Destroy the files.
Dr. Nathan: I can't do that.
      Robson: I can.
(Robson snatches the files from Dr. Nathan and rips them to pieces)

    • Cyril: Is it true Daddy's comin' to visit?
      Ryan:(Smiling) Well, not visit, exactly.

    • (Norma arrives late for her and Busmalis' wedding)
Norma: Oh Aggie! I called some guy and told him to tell you that the sitter was late. He promised to give you the message.
Busmalis: Promises don't mean a hell of a lot in Oz
      Norma: Mine does, marry me!
      (Busmalis tosses off his hat)
      Busmalis: Hit it, Father!

    • Ryan:(to inmate in the infirmary) Look, fuckstick, I don't make the food, I just serve it.

    • CO: Welcome to Oz.
      Seamus O'Reily: Fuck you!

    • Bukowski:(he is cornered by several Sicilians)Oh, I feel like Custer.

    • Ryan: I'm here about my dad.
McManus: I don't want Seamus O'Reily in Em City.
Ryan: I don't want him here, either.
      McManus: You don't?
Ryan: No! I just came up here to make sure that you weren't gonna do the
right thing, you know, try to reunite us, some kind of bullshit like that.
I don't want that old bastard anywhere near me.

  • Notes

    • The guest narrators for this episode were supposed to be Adebisi and Said, but the schedules of Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje and Eamonn Walker could not accommodate shooting.

    • The fairly longtime character (for Oz) Omar White and Leo Glynn, one of the last of the originals, are killed in this episode. Junkyard Dawgs also marks the final appearance of the highly amusing and sardonic Unit-J resident Alvin Yood.

  • Allusions

    • Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet

Keller:He speaks and yet he says nothing, what of that?

Keller's comment to Beecher when they are rehearsing MacBeth is taken from another Shakespeare play. Romeo and Juliet act2scene2 contains the line "She speaks and yet she says nothing, what of that?"
