  • Who Knows you might be the next "90210" and not a cheesy "Saved by the Bell"

I will admit that the first I watched this show was only because I knew someone in the cast and even so my first opinion was this show is going to bomb. But I actually have grow quite fond of the show you have to watch more than one episode to really get into it. I do suggest better quality in the filming of the show and some of the actors are trying way to hard. (Madison your great!)Keep up the good work and who knows you might me the next "90210" and "not a cheesy "Saved by the Bell."

This is awful, these people can\'t act. They need to be takin of the air. The sound was terrible the acting is needs work. Some body is gonna lose alot of money on this one. Palmetto Point gets 4 thumbs down, pure trash, ya gotta come with something better than that.
  • I love how crew members from this horrible show are the only ones posting positive comments. CASTING_GUY is one of the casting directors. FilmProducer has a link to the (former - they were fired) production company on his site. What a joke!!!

So sad... What? Were your egos hurt? Just accept that you were part of a huge mistake and you don't have any talent!!! Maybe that is why AMVF productions and every single one of its members were FIRED!!! This show is complete crap, from the casting to the production work and scripting. Maybe everyone can get jobs at the drive-thru at McDonalds. Maybe, just maybe they wouldn't screw that up too.
  • It is sad to see so many people lining up to trash a show that just debuts. People must give the new teen drama "Palmetto Pointe" a chance. It is no easy undertaking to produce television programming.

TO begin with, "Palmetto Pointe" has great and very recognizable talent. John Wesley Shipp is a two-time Emmy Award winning soap opera actor and was Dawson's dad on the hit series "Dawson's Creek." They have Gabrielle Carteris, (Beverly Hills 90210) Josh Holland (USA High) Nina Repta (Dawson's Creek) and Corbin Bernsen is in an upcoming episode.
Please give the show your time. I realize there were some audio issues the first time on, but they were corrected in a repeat. The problems were due to the compression at the network and the way the show was mixed. It just wasn't compatable.
The show has just gone through some administative changes which will have an overall effect on the look, feel and quiality of the show.
Unlike many teen dramas, "Palmetto Pointe" deals with real issues and handles them the way they would be dealt with in real life. Like the show's tag line goes, "The end of everything right and the beginning of everything real." Let's give this show another shot.
  • With room for growth, for cast and crew, this show has quite a bit of potential.

Like all other shows, the pilot episode is for introductions, ie: The Characters, Storyline, etc. In giving an unbiased opinion, the show has room to improve, but also left behind a path to fall back into. It is up to the Cast and crew to take this show in the right direction. Now for the biased point of view. I personally liked the Pilot. It left you wondering what is going to happen next week. I, like others, do have issues with certain elements of the production, IE: Sound, and a couple of actor\'s realistic believeablility, if that is even a word. But I have high hopes for this show, and I believe the acting for some, will improve with the Character Development, and any other kinks will also be worked out. As a strong follower of the O.C., I can say I now have a show on Sundays as well. Many believe the show is copying others... Not so. Palmetto Pointe is just holding Strong and True to the Young Adult Genre. With a cast that will surely grow in their abilites, and an incredibly Talented, need I remind you, Independent, Production Crew, this show will surely gain the Favor of the Public. I not only look forward to the next episode, but ratings willing, the next season, and the one after that.
John Kearns, Matt Mosher, and Braxton Honeycutt... Good Job. You have a great show on your hands.
  • They are daring to bring girls with real bodies and not starvation beauties to the screen. They are trim ,but cuddly. College guys will flip out.You can have a beer with these girls. Josh is the epitome of adorable. I hope Lacy throws it on him.

They are on to something good! It is rough around the edges ,but I believe alot of pilots are. We get your idea and we are watching to see where you will take us. Murphy is obviously a seasoned actor with charm. Tristan can't be all that bad with a friend like him around. This show could really get a following. There are enough characters to keep everyone entertained.
  • Show was a train wreck. The first show kills you then the rest just run you over

Who are the ad geniuses that came up with that one!?! I am from Charleston. The show was pretty bad from what I saw. It was a notch below the after school specials of the 80’s. I now live in Seattle, WA and I feel my TV may have been the only one watching the show in WA. What is this stuff about those two guys being the Matt Damon and Ben Affleck of the Carolinas? Get the @#$ out of here! They should have just played Ishtar or Gigli to put us in a coma.
  • Don't blame SC for this crap!

Hey, don\'t blame SC for this show. The show and the actors are from Wilmington! Palmetto Pointe is paying SC to film there! Since PAX picked it up it was inevitably going to be filmed somewhere, if not SC then NC and since one of the two states was going to be getting paid for it, I guess SC thought \"Why not us\". Blame PAX. I try not to be too critical of tv shows because a lot of work goes into making them, no matter how crappy. If this show wants to survive, they are going to have to make a lot of improvements.
  • A sad imitation of the O.C. and every other teen drama. There must be better writers and actors.

Keep this piece of garbage off tv. Even the "I television network" can do better than this. I don't think I could ever forgive anyone for watching this. Put on an hour of commercials. Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap Crap
  • I think they did some cool, risky things. Good for them not wanting to do the norm and have all that mushy boring dialogue, same ol' camera anglesand talking heads kind of crap! Give the cast and crew a break!

I enjoyed it. Sure there were a few things that weren't great like the Producer who made himself the lead actor and the sound. But all and all it was ok. I want to see the next episode because i'm sure they will have worked out the kinks. Think of all the poorly done pilots that have ended up making it huge...Dawson's Creek. They had a small minute portion of the budget of any of the other teen dramas. This is an Independent show, meaning not backed by a major studio. So take all that into consideration when judging the show. They are doing well for what they have to work with. I've been on set a few times and the crew is great. The cast are nice to the extras too unlike some snooty NC filmed shows, i.e. OTH/Dawson's Creek. If they had all the money those other shows had of course they would have done a better pilot. Give them the benefit of the doubt and watch the next episode. I bet it gets much better just as DC did!! Oh, and am I the only person that thought Murphy was HOT HOT HOT? and a great actor too!
  • Look, give a show a break! While \\\"Palmetto Pointe\\\" is obviously lower budget than \\\"The OC\\\" but come\\\'s not that bad. Sure there\\\'s an issue with the appearance with the age of some of the talent but the story is good. Let\\\'s give

The first episode of any show is an introduction of the main charactors.
Give the show a few weeks to grow on us. Remember, Dawson's Creek got many of the same criticisms and lasted six seasons. It started out with a brank new never before seen cast while Palmetto Pointe has established actors. I have no doubt the show will do well. Let\\\'s give it the benefit of the doubt.
  • Sucks

I can't believe that in this day and age that a show as poorly written, as poorly acted in, and as poorly filmed as Palmetto Pointe would even make it to the air. When shows like American Dreams are cut from line ups and something as poor as Palmetto Pointe is allowed on the air, it makes me think someone is paying someone. I predict this show will die a mercy death---soon.
  • Not that bad

I watched the show last night and I have to say it was pretty good. cool camera angles and lots of potential. Remember that was the pilot so its only going to get better. It always amazes me how fast people will put something down! Just think about what they said about Dawsons Creek when it first came out.
  • Is this a joke? I can't believe what I saw.

This has got to be about the worst thing I have ever seen. Bad acting, bad filming, bad, bad, bad. I don\'t care WHO is in it. If they get a job anywhere after this I would be surprised. I think a highschool could do a better job. What are you thinking, SC.
  • This show has potential, but needs tighter writing and better directing of the actors if it’s going to survive. The professionalism of the audio also needs improvement.

Who are these unrecognizable actors, and why are they impersonating high school students? They’re a bit old for that! But this is a minor point…

This show seems to have been created by amateurs as opposed to professionals, and if so, it’s not too bad for a first attempt. Here’s my assessment:

Story – 3/10 Didn’t keep my attention well, and was rather disjointed
Casting – 6/10 (other than the advanced age of these high school students, the actors looked good, but were a little less believable than their looks, especially Timothy Woodward)
Acting – 4/10 (not bad for amateur actors, but this is prime time!)
Special effects – 2/10 (the fight scene at the end was really amateurish)
Music – 8/10 (one of the best parts of the show)

The audio of this show is poor quality – not the genre of the music (that’s actually quite good), but the levels of the audio and the background noise masking the speech.
  • Really bad actors make people from South Carolina look even more like idiots while embarrassing the city of Charleston. This show looks like a high school Audio/Visual class project. Awful. Truly awful.

Seriously people, don't waste a perfectly good hour of your life on this piece of trash.

The cast will be unemployed very shortly, and we'll start seeing them in soft-core porn soon thereafter.

If I wanted to watch a bunch of people from South Carolina argue with family members and get into bar fights, i'd watch one of the thousands of episodes of COPS that is shown daily.
