Panic Mechanics is a 2002 family game show directed by Ewan Keil and
presented by Trevor Nelson. A cross between "Scrapheap Challenge" and
"Changing Rooms", it features two teams who are tasked to build a new
car from another car with 2,000 pounds. The competitors' also have to
troubleshoot faults in their cars and survive an obstacle relay and a
tank attack. Produced by the BBC, the participants are usually members
of local racing teams. Losing cars are crashed by a crane.
