  • Another fascinating episode...as anticipated!

    9.0
I'll be honest, I at first thought these people were experiencing human pranksters...live people breaking into their home and messing with their things and their minds. But, with time, it was shown that wasn't the case after all. I was pretty amazed to learn a voodoo doll from New Orleans would be behind this ordeal, but it certainly seems to have been the case.

As always, Chip Coffey was in top form. He is an amazing guy and I'm always extra delighted when he's on a show. He is so down to earth and straight on with things. I wish the tool box thing had been caught on tape, as well, but if Chip said he saw it, then I have no doubt it happened. I like this show, the people, and the way they approach the cases. Oh, I did want to add one thing in case the Parnormal State people ever read these reviews. If you guys feel uncomfortable with the commercials you're doing for the cell phones, maybe feeling as though it's taking away from the professionalism, I want you to know from my viewpoint, I understand why it has to be done. If it helps keep the show on the air and hopefully helps by providing some kind of funds so you can purchase new equipment, help more people, whatever, I think it's absolutely worth it. Just keep up the great work.moreless
  • Season 2 Finale starts off great!

What a great episode!. I think this episode taught us not to dabble in things we don't understand, like Oija Boards, and Voodoo Dolls. Peo0ple think its a fun thing to do, but they have no idea of the repercussions.

I don't think it was a good idea to have an investigator all alone in the basement with that kind of activity, but luckily Chip Coffey was there. Chip Coffey is always great when he is on the show. The rumor is that he is the real deal, and really can pick up on these things. I don't care much about the rest of the crew, but anytime Ryan and Chip team up, it's going to be a good time.moreless
  • It's back!!!!!

    9.5
Ryan and the rest of the PRS crew come to the aid of a couple that have been plagued by negative and seemingly paranormal events. During the course of the investigation it becomes apparent that the couple has been cursed and that a voodoo doll that they were given may have attracted a very negative spirit. This is the first time in the series that they had mentioned voodoo, and what the ramifications were of dabbling in it. The couple told Ryan that they were in possession of a voodoo doll, but when bad things started happening to them, including strange things happening to their religious items, they tried to have their house blessed, and a priest told them to get rid of the voodoo doll. Unfortunately, they decided to burn the doll rather than find out the proper way to dispose of it, releasing the negative energies within the doll. Dead time produced several interesting events including; a strange light anomaly in a part of the house that no one was in according to the cameras, strange growling sounds that they could find no reason for, a toolbox supposedly lifting-raising itself parallel to the ground before falling back into place (which wasn't recorded on video just witnessed) and some strange shadows forming in the basement with Chip, Ryan and a new tech guy which also was witnessed but not recorded.

The episode was really good, and of course the team found a way to help the couple. My only complaint was the bit in the basement with the night vision cameras. I didn't like that they mirrored all of the other so-called "paranormal shows" by using night vision cameras and freaking out over shadows in the corner, or strange things they swore they witnessed but didn't record. I feel that this show is better than that, examining the paranormal from a religious, spiritual, and psychological standpoint and it doesn't need to do the blair witch in night vision thing. Other than that it was a kick*** show and I'm glad it's back.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Nitpick: The voodoo doll had pictures of a money bag and a heart with lines through them, and Ryan identifies this as meaning that someone might have a heart attack, which the client admits has been her great worry. But the heart on the voodoo doll most likely represented the recipient's love life, not their heart's physical health.
