  • PRS is called in to help when renovations on an old Victorian house stirs up spirits that terrify a woman and her young son.

    9.0
Ryan and the team come to the aid of a single mother who lives with her young son in an old Victorian home that she is renovating. The house itself has had a dark past as the home of a bootlegger, complete with secret compartments, trap doors and locks on the outside of rooms. Renovations revealed more than a strange design; two spirits emerged - one a young girl, the other a negative entity that scared Hillary's son Hunter so badly that he refuses to sleep in his room and is afraid of his own house. Hillary even managed to get an EVP, with a voice saying "can you get us out".

A walk thorough with a new psychic to the show brought to light a tragic death of a little girl at the hands of a man named George. An investigation of the property turned up a former owner with that name and that had a history of mental disorder. There wasn't enough information on the little girl to confirm that she was murdered by George. Dead time included some mysterious sounds, but nothing definitive. There was a moment in the basement when Hillary seemed physically affected by the spirits, and things got pretty intense.

In the end, with the help of Ryan and the team, the spirit of the little girl was encouraged to move on, and Hillary was encouraged to claim the power in her own house. Once she did, things got better. Ryan even talked to Hunter to tell him that things are going to be ok, and that if he was still interested in the Paranormal when he got older he could call PRS up, This is another great example of how the team helps people who are adversely affected by the paranormal. They don't just tell the homeowners whether their equipment supports the idea that there are events that cannot be explained occurring in their residence, they provide emotional support and whatever else is needed to assist their clients so that they no longer feel helpless in their own home.moreless
  • The team travel to Newburgh Indiana to investigate a haunting that started during a renovation of a Victorian style home once used for boot-legging alcohol.

    7.0
Overall, it was a good episode. The home owner had captured some EVPs, and there were a couple of decent EVPs captured upstairs. There were also some unexplained noises that occurred during "Dead Time", but that could have been a hot water heater or pipes since they were in a basement. I find it hard to believe in Psychic Kim. She did seemingly come up with some facts that she could not have known IF (big if there) she did not know anything about the house. There is just something about her that I do not trust. Of course, I am always the skeptic first. However, it is certainly an episode worth watching.moreless
  • Very intense and frightening

    9.6
This was a fascinating case. An old Victorian was being restored and, as often happens with these old houses, changing the home's interior can bring out spirits residing there. The EVPs on this case were bone chilling. "Can you get us back?" made perfect sense, esp. given the revelations that come out later. It was as though the spirit was wanting to return to his life and to living, along with the child he allegedly murdered.

Unfortunately, at least for the show itself, not enough background information was able to be obtained. I am hoping they were later able to prove a child by that name was murdered in the house. At the very least, I hope they could determine that a child by that name died young in the house. Just something to add credence to the information the psychic gained.

They did confirm that people with the same first names the psychic came up with lived in the house many, many decades ago. Interestingly enough, the producers of the show elected to bleep out the last name of the two spirits, I guess since the guy was being accused of murder and there was no way to defend himself. However, I keep the "hearing impaired" closed captions on my television and they didn't remember to remove the last names from there (I've actually seen that happen with rape cases on true crime t.v. They bleep out the woman's name that was revealed in the courtroom, then forget to take the name out on the closed captioning.) Oddly the last name of George, the alleged killer, was the same as the child who was killed. Bundy Coincidence? Or did this man murder his own child? Or was it an uncle, brother, cousin? In addition, though it is never stated, it is implied that this little girl was possibly molested by this man. I hope this man left the home when ordered to do so and I hope little Abby finally found the peace she deserves.

They used a "new" psychic for thi episode. She came across, to me, as extremely credible, very legitimate, and extremely good at what she does. I hope they will bring her back in the future.moreless
