  • The team encounters some very strange evidence in this case as a woman and her roommate seek help against a poltergeist.

This was certainly a strange case in which the team receives "photographic evidence" of a malevolent force haunting a woman and her roommate. It gets stranger when the team discovers that the paranormal events began when the roommate moved in. After consulting Chip, they find out that the roommate is not only the focus of the haunting, but has also led a very troubled life including surviving Vietnam, and is undergoing some personal trauma at the time that this is happening. Even though she is frightened, the homeowner admits that she has never actually seen any paranormal events, she's only heard about it second hand from her roommate. She's seen the photographic evidence that was sent to them, but says that she didn't take the pictures. When they confront the roommate, he tells them what he witnessed, but claims that he didn't take the pictures either, nor will he discuss what happened in Vietnam to the cameras. They conduct dead time and in light of what they were told by the roommate, even Ryan was a little on edge and seeing things from the corner of his eye. Dead time turned up no evidence of paranormal activity, and the pictures that they were sent were obviously not genuine, but it was also evident that the homeowner and her roommate needed help. They did advise the homeowner that since the activity was centered around her roommate that the best course of action would be to remove her roommate from the house. Since she refused that option, they got counseling for him.

Even though it seemed that the house wasn't haunted by spirits, the team didn't make the homeowner or her roommate feel silly or ashamed by what they thought was going on. Instead, they managed to get them help even though the case turned out not to be paranormal. A good episode demonstrating how psychology can determine how we interpret what is happening in a situation.moreless
  • This episode was 30 minutes of my life that I will never get back!

What a horrible episode!. Ryan and the team travel to the home of a shady woman, and a creepy man who is her "Room Mate". I think they are dating, even though she tries to play it off as her being a good samaritan trying to help a sick man with cancer.

There were claims of poltergeist activity, and some sketchy photos of a black mass walking across the living room which clearly looked like a real person failing to pass it off as a full body appiration. I think this couple really wanted to be on tv.

So Ryan brings in Chip Coffey as usual to help solve the case. My question is Why don't they just bring Chip along everytime??. They always seem to need him. By the time it was over, it was clear that it was a hoax.moreless
