Pardon the Expression!

Show Summary

The first spin-off from ITV's uber-success, Coronation Street, "Pardon the Expression" followed the life of draper Leonard Swindley after he left the cobbles of Weatherfield. It ran for 36 episodes between 1965 and 1966 and showcased the comic talents of Arthur Lowe, later famous as Captain Mainwaring in "Dad's Army". Another notable cast member is Betty Driver who three years later, in June 1969, would join Coronation Street as barmaid Betty Turpin - a role she still plays to this day.
