Tony and Mike discuss the top sports stories including: their thoughts on Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan saying that they will beat the Eagles when they play in the season, Rex Ryan saying that someone other than the Jets need to beat the Patriots in their division and how long the Ryan brothers will be able to talk, without actually winning anything; their thoughts on the New York Giants' Osi Umenyiora saying that he wants to be traded, following the Giants refusal to restructure his contract; their thoughts on the reports that say Tim Tebow may have lost the Broncos starting job; their thoughts on NBA Commissioner David Stern saying that the NBAPA are not negotiating in good faith on a new CBA; their thoughts on Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett's new initiative where rookies have to earn the Cowboys' star on their helmet and the silver playing game pants; their thoughts on the reports that say that Bruce Pearl may be interested in coaching the Texas Legends, a team owned by the Dallas Mavericks in the NBDL. Mike Wilbon was way off with his take on Osi Umenyiora. You cannot "overperform" or "outperform" a contract, you can simply do your job and the job that you are paid to do. You can, however, not perform up to standards and be cut. The fact is that Osi is a heavily overhyped player who played for a disappointing defense last season and does not deserve a raise. It is unfortunate that his buddies have been released, but this is a business and that is how it works at this point. Stop whining, show up, practice, try to win some games this year and then you can ask for a raise.moreless

Happy Anniversary: Teddy Roosevelt! In 2009 the Nationals mascot was blindsided tackled during a race between the Pirates' mascots.
Happy Trails: New York Islanders? Tax payers voted down a new stadium proposal, which opens up the possibilities the team could move.
