  • Consistently solid.

I just love the realism of this show. I mean there's sex and sexual topics, but it's done so well compared to these other teen-shows. I mean Haddie and Alex decide to give it the go after a wonderful time out at the prom. Alex doesn't even pressure it, doesn't even remotely push the subject. I love how Haddie gets Amber to come as well. Adam and Kristina - natural, only natural to ask these questions. Adam's persistence because it's his daughter... and he knows what boys are like at his age. Crosby's storyline is equally heart-warming. In order to get Jasmine back, he GROWS UP. He sells his childish houseboat and buys a piece of property. Sure, it's in bad shape, but he soon woos the siblings to help him out. Crosby finally gets the support he needs from Adam and Joel, and everyone. It shows that he finally has a plan about his future - and he saw it - he saw himself living in this house and how it could be a place his family could live. Sarah's storyline was the weakest, but they focus on her trouble to let go of her family for once and just spend time on herself - not sure I agree. Sarah has thought about herself a lot, maybe not career-wise, but she takes a serious step towards her creative passion here. Joel and Julia still struggle with the fact that they can't have more kids. It's killing Julia, but I think a really great storyline would be them looking for a surrogate or adopting - they would be wonderful for that, especially since Joel is the primary caregiver. Julia trying to do more things with Savannah was awkward! They need to find a common interest.moreless
  • Another great episode - Adam finally forgives Crosby.

But a lot happens before that. It's Prom time, and Haddie asks Alex to take her. Of course he agrees. He mentions a worker at the Homeless Center who is also a High School student, and suggests she ask Amber to come with them as his date. Surprisingly, Amber agrees. Amber doesn't have a great time however, and decides to go home early. Adam is worried about Alex as Haddie's date; thinking the evening will result in the couple having sex.

Meanwhile, Crosby decides he will fight to get Jasmine back. His big idea is to sell the houseboat and buy a house. What he can afford is rather a "dump". But with Sarah's urging, Adam shows up to see the house with the rest of the family. It is then that he tells Crosby his family will help him - and just like that, all is forgiven.

By the way - Sarah, being told there is a possibility her play may get staged, works day and night to work on the revisions suggested by her mentor. Good stuff.moreless
