  • Bailout- the Ayn Rand story

I enjoyed seeing Ron Swanson actually getting involved in a government activity by choice, especially because it was to oppose the bailout of Leslie's favorite video store. While I don't agree with all of his arguments against government aid, I agree with alot of them, and I really enjoyed the citizen who said he had been on foodtamps and welfare but that he had never gotten any free money from the government. It was a nice piece of the American way of life. Some people see govt aid as a right they themselves earned by being born, but not a right for anyone else or any business. And some people see it as throwing money away on deadbeats and hopeless causes. Ron is the latter, so to see him so happy while everyone else was asking the council for their money was hilarious.

The Ann and April story was long overdue as far as I was concerned. Yes , Ann lived with Andy before April but for the two women who have so much in common, including their affection for Andy and Leslie, to not get along better after years of working together and hanging out outside of work made no sense. April is too smart to hold onto a pointless grudge for so long, she puts as little effort as possible into most things, she wouldn't keep trying so hard to hate Ann

The one question the episode had me asking was on the Chris Traeger sperm donor front. I don't always watch the extended version of the episode, but I don't recall Ann asking him to be a part of her and the baby's lives, just for a sperm donation. So is that going to be a situation that the writers make use of as a joke, or did they already decide that he would be a father to the baby??moreless

    • April asks Ann for a recommendation letter to veterinary school, however this episode was aired in March, and vet school applications are usually due in early October. Also Ann hands April an envelope containing her letter, but vet school recommendation letters are currently submitted entirely online. On top of these errors, there is no vet school at Indiana University (later erroneously referred to as the University of Indiana) in Bloomington. The only veterinary school in Indiana is at Purdue University.
