  • A sex scandal hits Pawnee

I love Parks and Rec's twist on a xmas episode as the have a sex scandal for the holidays and the ending of a short lived relationship between Dave and Leslie. Overall the holiday season wasn't very giving to Leslie because Dave had to move to San Diego, I'm not quite sure if they did this because he had to leave the show or for plot purposes but it was still sad to see him come and go so quickly as him and Leslie were really cute together even if they were quite mismatched. The budding relationship between Andy and April continued and her flirtations were cute and continued to be unnoticed by Andy. The ending was cute and I loved Ron's complete ineptness at doing his job.moreless

  • A goofy episode

This was a funny episode, but a little goofier than I would've expected from this show. Parks and Recreation certainly isn't realistic in any sense of the word, but the idea of Dexhart impregnating his babysitter, having an affair with five women in the same hospital, four who are nurses, just seems a bit strange. I did like the idea of him being a creep, and Leslie and Anne's reaction to his come-ons were hilarious. Also, Jerry gave my favorite line of the night with "They were just farts!" Watch the episode and see the context it's used for yourself. It's awesome.

However, like I said before, the episode was just a little goofier than the show is used to. Normally, there's some level of realism to it, but this was just a weird episode. I did like Andy as Santa, and it's interesting seeing April possibly being interested in him. April, so far, hasn't done much but has used her ability as a deadpan comedian to great advantage. It was just the Pawnee Sun stuff that bugged me. For some reason, it didn't feel as fun as the rest of the episodes this year.. well, fun maybe, but but a weird kind.

I'm almost caught up with the show now, so hopefully the next couple episodes are as good as the rest.moreless

This episode is the weirdest episode of "Parks and Recreation" ever. It seemed a bit disconnected at points and all the plots were scattered around. This episode also ended the Leslie/Dave plot that was a great boost to the show. The way Dave had to leave was kind of cheap, but at least it didn't end unrealistic. Meanwhile, Leslie trying to set up the christmas festival was a great plot. This episode was really all for Leslie, when you think about it. In another Leslie plot, she becomes part of a christmas scandal with councilman Dexhart-a callback from "Practice Date." That plot was great and Leslie standing up for herself was great. "Pawnee Today" was funny and the cold open was especially great. That said, Ron's plot was way cut down and the episode was extremely disconnected. It wasn't that awesome like previous "Parks and Rec" episodes.moreless

    • Leslie: It's gotten a lot harder to work in government. D'you think Winston Churchill ever had to pull his pants down and show his butt? No. But would he have? Yes. Now could he have? Maybe not towards the end of his life, but, he would have....because he loved his job. Edit
    • Leslie: In a 24 hour news cycle, the tiniest story gets dissected over and over again. In 2004, a kid from Pawnee went to the Olympics and it was reported on for over a year. He wasn't even competing or anything. He was just going literally to watch the Olympics. Edit
    • David: My army reserve unit...we got called up to active duty. I ship out in four days. Leslie: Oh my God. Where are you going? David: San Diego. Leslie: OH MY GOD! Edit
