Seasons 2-3 Leslie has been an awesome character. She's strong willed, comical, and usually keeps herself composed. But this season she's just so annoying! Last couple episodes with Ben have been terrible. She's losing her cool, acting whiny, ruining her public image, and is nothing at all like the character she was in past seasons. It's like a completely different character. What are the writers thinking? I really hope now that she's back with Ben she'll go back to being the old Leslie, cuz the new one sucks!

I think Leslie is as shady and loopy as she's always been, and in other words, just like a real politician. I think the lack of supporting characters & plots other than Ben has really put her front and center to the point of overexposure. And what ever happened to Dave Sanderson? - wasn't he supposed to only be in San Diego for a year?

Louis C.K., the actor that played Dave, has his own show on FX call Louie, so doubt he'll be coming back.

I guess he probably could if he wanted to.

I agree with the original post. Leslie in seasons 1-3 was allowed to be a comedic powerhouse, much like Steve Carell in The Office. Now she is less funny due to all the exposition and the show is suffering as a result. There are so many romantic plots and over-arching story lines that the comedy is lost in the backdrop. Season 4 needs a good stand alone ep not involving her obviously doomed campaign

I've actually always thought that both the character of Leslie Knope and her portrayer Amy Poehler were very much overrated. It's not that Leslie isn't an ok character, it's just that in my opinion she's not as great as people make her out to be. I consider this show to be one of best shows on television but its not because of Amy Poehler and to tell you the truth she's probably the least important character on the show to me. I tune in because of all of the great characters around her and not Leslie herself. They could remove Leslie from the show and I would like it just as much now as I did before. She really only exists to move storylines forward and give a center to the show; most of the comedy comes from everyone else especially Ron, Andy and April and that's what I tune in for. It's not as if she's Michael Scott or anything. What sells the show is the rest of the cast.
