  • The gang desides to produce art murial

    7.5
While this was a step down from the last episode, I still enjoyed it. I think the producers and writers knew that it was very hard to top the last episode. But it's still good. Another reason I down graded it is that I am not a big art person. I have always enjoyed the art displayed in Pawnee's City Hall. I think it's funny that Pawnee has this offensive history and displays it for the public. It's done in such a way that you the viewer is not offended by it. I also like that Tom gets into art. The B Storyline was good too. I thought it was funny the sound Ron made when Andy was giving him a shoe shine. After that incident I like the interaction between them. One of the funnier moments of the episode is when Jerry displayed his painting said the word wrong and people made fun of him for it. When Jerry is a punching bag it's always funny to see. Another thing I didn't like it was the ending. I like conclusions. However this was still a good episode.moreless
  • Nobody creates a "non-racist" mural so good than "Parks and Recreation"!

    9.5
This week is an episode where all the characters in the show worked together that results a really really memorable installment! Who knew that an episode about creating mural could be really funny? The background characters Donna and Gerry are being used more and more, they contribute some great and hilarious lines and screen time! Gerry's pronunciation of mural, pronouncing it "muniral" made laugh so hard, literally! Amy Poehler's character idea to mash-up all the mural they made, the result or "the camel" was so horrible making the current "racist" mural better! And also, the subplot between Andy and Ron works pretty well. Ron's moaning while Andy's shoeshining his shoes was an emmy clip! I wish "Parks and Recreation" is always like this, using all the characters in the show putting them in an ugly situation making it's damn funny! The show is a contender for having a huge breakthrough in comedy show world this season. WATCH this show and Emmy it now! Anyways, This episode is an over the top, pure perfection, 30 minutes comedy!moreless
  • Art in Parks

    9.5
A great way of showing off the comedic strengths of the whole office of the Parks and Rec department. The different people's artistic expressions were such a great representation of their characters. April's art was just hilarious and she deadpanned it perfectly as always. Donna's last supper was hilarious and creative and the random picture of her friend and nascar were highlights. I loved how people kept asking Ann what she was doing there to highlight the questionable nature of her always being around just for the sake of plot instead of reality. Jerry's piece was great and people mocking him for his idea was so funny. Tom falling in love with the shapes were great and I loved the way he treated the art student. Leslie getting really into the competition was typical but it was nice to see them all come together. And Andy and Ron's awkward interaction was great, I loved Andy's bleepful reaction which just highlighted everyone's weirdness.moreless
  • "Shut up, and make me more art!" If you had to watch one episode of "Parks and Recreation," without knowing the back-story, getting into the big plots, watch this one, you won't regret it.moreless

This episode was not so memorable but it was a standout in a way. It was great. Jerry and Donna continue to be great. Everyone became competitive and it the murals were hilarious. People being mean to Jerry and making fun of his "murinal" was a look at the personal relationships between the people in the "P & R" office. Tom getting so emotional about his art was funny and weird and it made no sense but not much in this show does. Ron making the noise was awkward and Andy made it more awkward. This episode started with a bang, ended with a bang, and is the best episode ever of "P & R"moreless
  • People who are either giving up or new to PR need to see this ep!

    8.5
Okay I am going to forever remember the moaning Ron Swanson thing;it was awkward at such a high level that it rivals the office. Andy pretty much said everything that I was thinking and (unfortunately) feeling.

Finally, I have more than just two favorite characters; Tom Haverford and Ron Swanson. Jerry, Andy(do I really need to explain?), and The Cop. Jerry reminds me of a combination of Toby and Creed. Everybody seems to dislike the things that are done out of his control, and he does or done things to not be proud of. Everything the cop says is funny because of his stony expression and impartial description of things. Tom, besides Ron/andy, really sold the show for me. His recent fascination with art put me to tears, what made it even more funny was that he couldn't properly describe what he liked about the painting. The way he was asking more for "art" at the end was crazy(the guy wasn't playin). I finally realized why this guy is so funny; its his eyes. Just look at his eyes when he says something weird or funny. I can't describe it. It just multiplies the ridiculousness of his character. For the longest of time, I've been scared this show wouldn't work. I figured it would inevitably fail not from the content, but from the fact that it is not as popular as the office. With this episode, I'm not scared anymore. I've been following this episode since day one but now I'm going to put it on the must-see-per-week list. Sorry Hulu, going to start watching it in real time; U got another fan PR!!moreless
