This is it. I have reviewing over 100 episodes and been doing this for a few months now. I have tried to keep objective and give you my best opinion on shows, trying to look at the good parts, while still pointing out the parts that were not good or could be better. This episode was one of the "worst" ones that I reviewed. Overall, was it bad? No. There were some good parts but more bad parts then usual. Maybe it's the fact I don't like Twilight but a grown man not only liking it but loving it even though he has a young daughter is creepy. I lost bit a respect for Tom when he became a fan. However he was going through some stuff at the time. The town meeting was not funny as it could have been. Normally town meetings are laugh out loud. It was funny but not very funny. I also did not like that Tom and Wendy are not dating anymore. Yes she was maybe not the one, but she was good for Tom. I think this episode would have been better if this was a full season. There were some good parts. At the beginning Leslie mentions some of the town slogans (very funny) and mentions what is the first appearance of a book she is writing. (It's an actual book, more on that later) Overall this could have been better. However not every episode will not be a hit.moreless

Still low ratings for Parks and Rec? Really? I don't know about the other fans of this show but I though this was the best episode yet (of the season). Will Forte's appearance was outstanding, and I found myself laughing through the entire episode.

From Leslie saying Pawnee's different motto's over the years. The one liner about the cult was the absolute best, had me in stitches. We got more Andy & April development. Ann appeared to be in the sidelines of the episode. It still bothers me that every story line involving Ann has to be about a guy, but that's just me.

The idea of the time capsule wasn't the most original plot, but having someone who wants to put the Twilight books in the time capsule definitely is original. The final outcome really was unexpected. I laughed at a lot of one liners, too many to mention really. Just a superb episode of Parks & Rec tonight.moreless
  • Leslie has to deal with a Twilight addict and a group of people who want different things in the Time Capsule

I love Parks and Recreation and I think it's impressive how far the show has come since its pilot episode. However, this was probably my least favorite episode since the Fred Armisen episode in Season 2, or even some of the episodes of Season 1. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would disagree with me, and I respect that. I don't know if it was the Twilight tilt or the lack of urgency that the last couple episodes have had, but this one seemed to fall a little flatter than usual.

The basic idea is that Leslie and the town of Pawnee is burying a time capsule that "encapsulates" the town (Leslie uses that pun about a billion times, and it gets funnier every time). However, one guy wants to put a copy of the Twilight series in there, claiming it's the best series ever. Will Forte plays the guy, and he does an alright job in the role.. I mean, Will Forte is Will Forte, and if you want to know what he acts like in it, just watch any of his SNL skits or any of his movies.

From here, we get a public forum created by Leslie and Ben that brings out the crazies of Pawnee once again. Public forums of Pawnee never fail to create hilarious moments, and the arguments over why Twilight should or should not be included. The women who kept saying "quivering" was great here, and near the end of the forum, Ben and Leslie share a nice little moment. At first, I thought Ben was sort of a dry character, but Adam Scott plays him the way he plays most characters: down to earth, by the books but always willing to prove that he has a good sense of humor and a good heart.

By the time the episode ends, we've reached a pretty satisfying place where every character is working perfect with each other and everything is going peachy. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh on the episode.. maybe I just hate Twilight and think it's not something worth going into on an episode of Parks, one of the best shows on TV right now. Either way, by the end, I'm reminded of how much I love these characters.moreless

    • Ben: What's going on?
Leslie: Some guy handcuffed himself to a pipe in my office because we wouldn't put a copy of Twilight in the time capsule.
      Ben: Damn it. Again?

    • Leslie: So, enjoy watching it. Assuming you still have electricity. And sorry about the weird blank gap in the middle. A man named Jerry Gergich screwed up the recording somehow. He had one job to do.

    • Leslie: Please remember, this is a government project. So, we need to refrain from corporate promotion and religious items. Who'd like to start?
Man: I think we should put in the Bible.
      Leslie: Great.

    • Leslie: Pawnee, the Paris of America. Pawnee, the Akron of southwest Indiana. Pawnee, welcome, German soldiers. After the Nazis took France our mayor kind of panicked. Pawnee, the factory fire capital of America. Pawnee, welcome, Vietnamese soldiers. Pawnee, engage with Zorp. For a brief time in the '70s, our town was taken over by a cult. Pawnee, Zorp is dead. Long live Zorp. Pawnee, it's safe to be here now. Pawnee, birthplace of Julia Roberts. That was a lie, she sued and so we had to change it. Pawnee, home of the world famous Julia Roberts lawsuit. Pawnee, welcome, Taliban soldiers. And finally, our current slogan: Pawnee, first in friendship, fourth in obesity.

    • Tom: (about his ex Lucy) She broke up with me. Didn't really tell me why. Luckily when you're the guy you just tell people she's crazy.
