The second season finale of Party Down and all signs point to this being the series finale for the virtually unwatched show. Party Down was a clever concept from the start, but some of its episodes were just too over the top and this is just not a concept that I could see taking off with the masses.
Jane Lynch's return delivered no laughs, in fact I rarely laughed at all during this episode. I'll remember Party Down for all its big name guest stars from Kristen Bell to Kevin Hart to JK Simmons to Paul Scheer to Richard Fancy to Enrico Colantoni... the list just goes on and on. I will remember this show for keeping Adam Scott relevant after Step Brothers, for introducing Ken Marino to the masses, and for reintroducing Lizzy Caplan and Jane Lynch after a few failed sitcoms.
But I will mostly remember Party Down for being the niche show. Never the funniest or the most clever program on television, but it usually was a fun half hour of TV.
