In the Not On Your Wife Opening Night episode of Party Down, the gang caters an event at a community theater. Initially it seems like a normal gig, but things go awry when Kyle (Ryan Hansen) is asked by his former mentor to try to get a wealthy older woman into bed in order to procure money to save the floundering theater.

Well, the episode featured a lot of funny guest stars: Rob Huebel, who has guested on just about every funny sitcom of the last few years (Reno 911, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Gary Unmarried, The League, 30 Rock,) Kerri Kenney (Reno 911!) and Rachael Harris, but unfortunately these three funny people and the great cast of this show were not enough to save this from being essentially yet another laugh-free half hour of television. Rob Thomas' sophomore show may get praise, but his writing is pretentious and the fact that they try to pawn these people goofing around, and having orgies as entertainment is really an insult to these viewers.moreless
