After some impressive guest stars for the first nine episodes (Rob Corddry, Enrico Colantoni, Ed Begley Jr., Kyle Bornheimer to name a few) Party Down brought in two big names in Star Trek's George Takei and the luminous Kristen Bell. Bell was a welcome addition to the show, and despite only being there because of Rob Thomas cashing in a Veronica Mars favor she was hilarious and added a unique element to Party Down. In the end she seemed a little too much like Angela from The Office when she asked Henry out, but prior to that her bossing around of the white shirts was great.

The show has officially been renewed for a second season and I think we all want to see what happens with Ron's Soup or Crackers and the Henry/Casey relationship. I just hope that the latter does not become too much of the show's focus as this is a comedy, and their struggle to define what they actually are has resulted in some episodes not having too many laughs.moreless
