    Sarah Reeves (episodes 23-121)

    9.3

Born in Waco, Texas in 1979, Jennifer was given her first name by her older brother Todd, who named his little sister after a girl he then had a crush on. After her parents got divorced she grew up with her mother in Harker Heights, also in Texas.

At an early age, Jennifer displayed a passion for singing and performing. At age five, she took jazz, tap, and ballet lessons which resulted in her joining the Texas Show Team, which toured through Europe and the (former) Soviet Union. Five years later, her family moved to Los Angeles, where Jennifer quickly found commercial work and a role on Disney's Kids Incorporated in 1984. Following this memorable event, she attempted a series of TV roles without much success.

Jennifer then made a leap into acting in movies, making her film debut in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit co-starring Whoopi Goldberg. After appearing in two short-lived network shows and releasing two music albums, Jennifer finally got her break when she was cast in Party of Five in 1995.

  • Michael Goorjian

Justin Thompson (season 2, recurring otherwise)

    8.6
Meet Michael Goorjian. As a multi-talented young star with a career that keeps going and going like the Energizer Bunny, Michael would seem like the guy who would be nothing more than just a pretty face. But don't be fooled: This 32 year old is about as talented as they come. One day he'll be pretty in pink flapping and selling newspapers on the streets of Central Park and the next he's roughing it with big Hollywood directors. "All this is not why I do what I do. I don't act because I want to be a celebrity who is seen as a hunk. I just try to keep focused on being an actor", Michael declares.

Unlike many celebrities, Michael Goorjian was not seeking a career for fame and fortune, instead he wanted to chase the footprints of his brainy dad and become a physicist. Michael, an Aquarius, was raised in his artsy parents' loft in Oakland, California. His father was a physicist at NASA and his mother was a nurse, and tiny Eagle Scout Michael himself enjoyed studying quantum physics. However, the acting bug bit him at an early age and he soon became interested in performing arts. (It's a good thing because it's hard to imagine Disney's Newsies, where he had to nail that dreadfully shrill "I might" note, without him. Actually, it's hard to ever imagine Life Goes On, the critically acclaimed FOX drama Party of Five, and SLC Punk! without him either). He first began his acting career doing local theater at the tender age of thirteen mainly as a way to spend less time in During that time, he worked with drama director Dennis Kohles in companies such as the Contra Costa Musical Theater Company, the Berkeley Shakespeare and the San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater among other local companies, where he studied acting, singing, and dancing. After he finished high school, he toured all throughout England and starred as Jesus in the production of God Spell. When the tour wrapped up, he returned to California and moved to Los Angeles to attend undergrad at UCLA and study Theater Arts. That probably makes many of you glad Michael missed lectures in study hall and gave Hollywood a chance.

In 1991, Michael and some friends from UCLA decided to form a theater group. Together, they formed the award winning Buffalo Nights Theater Company down in Los Angeles where Michael provides choreography for the Company's productions of Salome, Reefer Madness!, Meat, and The Firebugs. Michael also founded Malador Productions, Inc. for which he works with today on his films.

At age 22, Michael snagged a 1994 Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the dead-on portrayal of David, a young over-protected autistic boy, in the made-for-TV film David's Mother. It placed him in competition with Hollywood heavy-weights such as Alan Alda, Richard Gere, Matthew Broderick, and Sir Ian McKellen. The "Good Morning" after, he was signed to join Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue in Leaving Las Vegas.

Later, Michael immediately won the role made especially for him as Justin Thompson for the Golden Globe Award Winning Party of Five. He played the "best friend" of opposite Neve Campbell's "Julia". He didn't have to audition for the part! He got cast off of his demo tape because he was out of town. To top it all off, he was scheduled for only six episodes, but fans yearned for more of Justin's Nice-Guy Boyfriend character/ performance and he became a regular on the show. But soon after, he decided to leave the recurring role as the lovable Justin to become a filmmaker.

There are a couple of big things brewing in Michael Goorjian's life right now. Sure, he's working on some new films, but that's not what I'm talking about. Michael is much more motivated these days by outwardly normal stuff like teaching part-time as a drama professor at Loyola Marymount University, trying to work things out with his girlfriend of three years, fiddling with his friends music, and like hmm...playing the accordion-things that are all his-and not the public's (Until, someone like me write about it). It's real stuff. Michael continues his long devotion to theatre by making appearances back at Buffalo Nights. He has just recently finished his feature film debut, Oakland Underground, a mock documentary about an underground cult, set in his hometown, Oakland. He is also still working on two more films, The Illusion and Teen Folio.moreless

  • Neve Campbell

    Julia Salinger

    9.3
This sloe-eyed brunette began her career as a teenage performer in her native Canada, singing and dancing in the chorus of the Toronto production of The Phantom of the Opera from 1988 to 1990. After a brief modeling stint, Neve Campbell landed a one-season (1992-93) regular role as one of the aspiring musicians in the Canadian-produced series Catwalk, which aired on MTV in the USA. Her small screen breakthrough came when she was cast as "Julia Salinger", as the headstrong older sister, in the award-winning drama series Party of Five (Fox, 1994-2000). Over the course of the series' run, her character experienced numerous trials and tribulations from an unwanted pregnancy to a busted marriage, all while coping with her family and their problems (which included alcoholism and cancer, among others). Throughout it all, Campbell acquitted herself proving to be a fine dramatic player. The actress was a bit slower to translate her appeal on the big screen. She made her film debut in the forgettable direct-to-video outing The Dark (1994) before finding success in a supporting role as a teenager dabbling in witchery in The Craft (1996), although co-stars Fairuza Balk and Robin Tunney had the showier roles. Campbell achieved her breakthrough as the put-upon heroine "Sidney Prescott" in the post-modern box-office smash Scream (also 1996). Scream, directed by Wes Craven and scripted by Kevin Williamson, both parodied and emulated the slasher films of the early 80s and spawned the inevitable sequel Scream 2 (1997), with Campbell's character now a college student. She fared less well with this outing, playing an aspiring actress targeted by a copycat killer (One set piece had Campbell "acting" in a school production that was unintentionally hilarious). Nevertheless, she returned to close out the trilogy with Scream 3 (2000), this time returning from self-imposed exile to visit the set of a movie based on her experiences. Attempting to distance herself from the horror genre, Campbell was seemingly miscast in the role of a white-trash vixen (a former prison inmate no less), in the uneven Wild Things and further floundered as a soap actress enjoying the nightlife of Studio 54 (both 1998 ). She debuted as a producer with the romance Hair Shirt (premiered at the 1998 Toronto Film Festival) in which she appeared as an egotistical movie star alongside her brother Christian. Campbell also landed the role of the mistress of an advertising executive in the triangular romantic comedy Three to Tango (1999) as well as a stint in the ensemble of the dismal comedy Drowning Mona (2000), but neither did much to add to her star power or build her acting resume, but she equated herself well in a series of less pop audience minded projects, including Panic (2000) playing the dark, edgy muse of an older man (William H. Macy) leading a stalled life; Alan Rudolph's frankly refreshing dramedy Investigating Sex (2001) as one of two female stenographers assisting two male sex researchers; and as "F. Scott Fitzgerald"'s young protege, writer "Frances Kroll Ring", opposite Jeremy Irons in the cable television movie Last Call (2002). Campbell's accumulated credits sufficiently impressed legendary director Robert Altman to turn the Campbell-penned story (ultimately co-written with screenwriter Barbara Turner) of a young ballet dancer poised to become a fictional Chicago troupe's next big thing into his next film, The Company (2003). The actress, who trained at the National Ballet of Canada as a girl, was cast as the rising prima ballerina "Ry", around who Altman built a trademark multi-character tale filmed inside the famed Joffrey Ballet. Campbell's authentic knowledge of the inside world of ballet and her always convincing dancing allowed her to deliver her best, most nuanced performance to date. She followed up with the equally ambitious When Will I Be Loved? (2004), a noir-ish intellectually and erotically-charged tale of a indulged, sexually adventurous femme fatale artist (Campbell) who uses her powerful sexuality to advance her aims and control those who seek to use her. Although it was a daring--even brash--choice for Campbell, the movie suffered from writer-director James Toback's largely improvisational approach and characteristic--and slightly disturbing-- fetish-ization of his leading lady.moreless

  • Carroll O'Connor

    Jake

    9.6
Born August 2, 1924 in the Bronx, New York. In his early years, O'Connor directed his efforts toward stage acting, mainly performing in the European cities of Dublin, London, and Paris. During the 1960s, he appeared in a number of obscure films, including By Love Possessed (1961) and In Harm's Way (1965). Shortly after, O'Connor was offered the lead role in an American adaptation of the popular British program Till Death Do Us Part. He accepted the part and starred in the American pilot. CBS eventually agreed to air the sitcom in 1971, after prolonged negotiations because of its controversial content. Renamed All in the Family (1971-79), the show featured O'Connor as the working-class ignoramus Archie Bunker, a character redeemed only by his endearing wife Edith (Jean Stapleton), liberal daughter Gloria (Sally Struthers), and son-in-law Michael, also known as "Meathead" (Rob Reiner). In the post-civil rights era of the 1970s, the series, created by Norman Lear, was a forum for social commentary on uncomfortable American issues like racism and bigotry. O'Connor deftly portrayed Bunker as a somehow likable blue-collar worker just trying to get along in life. His performance earned him eight nominations and four Emmy Awards. After the show ended, he continued to portray Archie Bunker in the less-successful Archie Bunker's Place (1979-83). His other notable television role was as the liberal sheriff on the well-received In the Heat of the Night (1988-92), for which he won an Emmy in 1988. O'Connor made headlines under tragic circumstances in the mid-90s when his son, Hugh, an actor who worked with his father on In the Heat of the Night, killed himself after an unsuccessful bout with drug addiction. An acquaintance of Hugh brought slander charges against O'Connor, after Carroll went on television claiming that he supplied drugs to his son and was partly responsible for his death. O'Connor was cleared of all charges, and became an active anti-drug spokesperson, lobbying for laws that would give individuals and states the right to sue drug dealers for damages. He has also appeared in numerous public service announcements urging parents to help their children refrain from drugs. During the late 1990s, O'Connor had recurring roles on the Fox series Party of Five, and on Mad About You as Helen Hunt's father. Most recently, he appeared opposite Minnie Driver and David Duchovny in the romantic comedy Return to Me (2000). On June 21, 2001, at the age of 76, O'Connor died of a heart attack brought on by complications from diabetes.moreless

The Forehead: People with oval foreheads like Joanna's tend to be homebodies. Joanna loves to maintain projects and may be interest in health-related topics.

The Face: JoAnna has a wide face. She enjoys open spaces and being by the water. She is also young at heart and highly self-confident.

The Eyes: JoAnna has sparkling, flirtatious eyes. Guys may find her irresistible, which may well get her into trouble. She is a very emotional person and cares about others. She must set some time out for herself and her family or they will feel neglected.

If JoAnna were in business for herself, she would have a hard time making a go of it unless she had a partner who handled money well. The rounded tip of her nose relates to her inquisitiveness. She loves scoping out the latest news.

The Cheekbones: Pronounced cheekbones imply JoAnna loves traveling and changing up her routine. She is fun to be with because of her sense of adventure.

A seemingly ubiquitous television presence in the later '90s and early 2000s, Joanna Garcia has been appearing on the small screen since she made her debut in 1992 in Nickelodeon's popular Clarissa Explains It All. Later taking on a more substantial role on that same network with Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Garcia began her transition into film with the sequel to the popular teen sex comedy American Pie. A native of Tampa, FL, Garcia got her first taste of stardom when she landed the lead role in a local theater production at the age of ten. Developing an insatiable appetite for the spotlight following her debut, she was discovered by Nickelodeon while in high school and was soon making the notable commute from Florida to Montral to appear in Dark. Though she would attend Florida State University for a year after graduating high school, the call of the Hollywood hills was too hard to resist and the aspiring actress dropped out to relocate after landing a role on the made-for-television movie Holy Joe (1999). Turning up in such popular shows as Party of Five and Freaks and Geeks (in which she turned in a memorable performance as popular cheerleader Vicky Appleby) soon after, Garcia also scored with distinctive roles in Boston Public, Providence, and Dawson's Creek. Returning to television for her role in Reba after her feature debut, Garcia could next be seen on the silver screen as a Tourette's Syndrome-inflicted cheerleader in Not Another Teen Movie.moreless
