    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • In "Mama for a Day," Jelly points out that she left the hot water running while she checked on Opal, yet it only creates bubbles due to the soap she accidentally spilled rather than also sinking the house-boat.

      • Aunt Nanner's first appearance is in Go Away Gorilla.

      • Despite Peanut's suggestion to do the Noodle Dance in "Mama for a Day", he still hesitates to dance when the Noodle Dance song starts.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • Jelly: Peanut, are you awake?
        Peanut: (Still sound asleep) Mmmm...
Jelly: Peanut, psst! I think I hear something.
Peanut: (Awake) What? What is it?
Jelly: I don't know, but it sounds like something is licking the side of the boat.
Peanut: What could be licking the side of the boat?
Jelly: I don't know, but it's something big and licky, maybe it's a shark! (Jelly imagines a shark licking the otter houseboat)
Peanut: Jelly, don't be a goof, sharks don't lick boats, go back to sleep.

      • Jelly: I know! We can get a big 'ol hose and wash the bubbles away!
Peanut: (his vision of Jelly's idea is shown) Yeah. Yeah. And then...(his vision of Jelly's idea shows the boat sinking due to the extra water)...then we'd have an even bigger problem!

      • (Opal is upset when she sees Aunt Nanner singing and making a racket with PB&J)
Opal: Aunt Nanner! What is the meaning of this?
Aunt Nanner: (realizes what she did) Oh. Sorry. Well, you remember the Go Away Dance, don't you?
        Opal: Well...yes.

      • (Jelly, afraid of what she believes to be a boat-licking shark, tries to fall asleep by counting sheep after Peanut suggests it)
        Jelly: One frog...two frogs..three frogs...sharky frog!
Peanut: This is going to be a long night.

      • Pinch: Hey, Jelly. Want to come out and play ballerinas?
Jelly: Not now, Pinch. I've got to stay here and take care of my mama.
(Scootch appears and runs towards the tray)
        Scootch: AAAAAAAAH!!!
        Jelly: No, Scootch! No!
(Scootch continues and the tray, bowl and soup fall onto the floor)
        Scootch: Sorry. Sorry. My fault.
Pinch: Oh, PB&J. I'm so sorry. What can I do to help?
Peanut and Jelly: Take Scootch home!
Pinch: Oh. OK. Come on, Scootch.
        Scootch: Sorry. Sorry. My fault.
        (They leave)
