  • That weird Mr. Crane...

    1.0
Mr. Crane is so creepy. I think it's cause he's voiced by the person who voiced face. that was pretty creepy.

And this show is pretty creepy.
  • Two great episodes.

    9.0
Watchbird Alert, I think, is a really good episode. When I first saw it, I loved it. The Cranes are 2 of my 3 (tied with Scootch) favorite characters. Cap'n Crane was just awesome during this episode from what I remember. I only wish I could remember it more fondly, because I still remember thinking it was an awesome episode the last time I saw it, almost 2 years ago, when I still had access to my copy of it.

    Final Episode Grade: A

Flick's Hat Trick was about Flick not wanting to take his hat off because he wants to wear it everywhere--even to sleep. I don't really like this episode as much as the previous one, but it's still a good one, nonetheless.

    Final Episode Grade: B+

  • My favourite episode

    10
This is my favourite episode of the series. I suppose it might be a tad biased, considering I'm a huge fan of the Cranes, but I really do love this episode (or at least the first part - it was split into two parts in the UK, and I can't remember the second, so it's the first part I'll be reviewing).

Basically, Cap'n and Connie Crane's house falls down, and the Otters invite them to stay at their house. At first, PB&J think it's cool, but they change their tune after spending a day with Cap'n. He is OBSESSIVE about safety; whilst some of his rules make sense (like how it's not safe to ride your skateboard in the house), he also cancels their picnic because it might rain (there is only one cloud in the sky) and he doesn't let Butter stack boxes because "something might happen". Eventually, the Otter kids get fed up with this, but they then realise that Cap'n Crane only did this because he's a Watchbird, and watching out for people is his job. Then they team up with their neighbours to help stand the Cranes' house back up, as a way of thanking them for watching out for everyone on the lake. Like I said earlier, I am a big fan of the Cranes, so that does play a major part in how much I liked this episode. I chose it as 'character development' because we do find out a lot more about these characters - or at least one of them (Connie Crane was out of the way throughout most of the episode).moreless

    • (After Cap'n Crane accidentally falls into the lake)
Connie: If you wanna take a bath dear, why don't you try the bath tub?

    • Ootsie: (To Peanut, Jelly and Flick) Hey! Shouldn't you guys be practicing?
      Bootsie: Practicing how to lose?
      (She and Ootsie laugh meanly)
Peanut: (Crossly) No! We're practicing to win!

    • Soccertronic 3750: Ootsie and Bootsie, shouldn't we be warming up or practicing or something?
Bootsie: Ha! Who needs to practice?
      Ootsie: Our team always wins!

    • Mrs. Duck: Flick, I know how proud you are of that cap, but maybe you could take it off to go to bed.
      Flick: Sorry, Mom. That's a big no-can-do.
      Mrs. Duck: You can't?
      Flick: Nope. Never.
      Mrs. Duck: Never?
      Flick: Never.

    • Jelly: That is a cool hat, Flick!
Peanut: Can I try it on?
Flick: Let me think about it. Mrm.... no!
      Peanut: How come?
Flick: 'Cause then I'd have to take it off.
      Peanut: Yeah, so?
Flick: So I decided I'm never gonna take off this hat.
      Jelly: How come?
Flick: To prove that I'm the World Soccer Team's number one fan. Woo hoo!

    • (The entire community of Lake Hoohaw has just turned out to build the Watchbirds a new treehouse.)
Cap'n Crane: How can we ever thank you?
      Peanut: You don't have to.
Jelly: That's what friends are for. But we'll sure miss not having you as houseguests.
Cap'n Crane: Thanks, Jelly. We loved staying with ya', but it sure will be good to be home again. (He starts to open the door.)
Ernest: Wait, Cap'n! We aren't quite finished yet! (The new treehouse collapses.)
      Cap'n Crane: Oops.
Peanut: No problem. You can stay with us tonight. Can't they, Mom?
Opal: Of course they can, Peanut. That's what friends are for.

    • Peanut: Having the Cap'n around isn't as much fun as I thought it would be.
Jelly: Yeah. He has a rule for everything.

    • Peanut: Ooh boy, I can't wait! What is it?!
Jelly: Is it banana-fish griddle cakes with warm babbleberry syrup?
Cap'n Crane: Even better than that. It's the healthy stick-to-your ribs goodness of a big bowl of 100% all-natural worms.
Peanut: I think I just got unhungry.
      Jelly: Me too.
      Butter: Me thwee.
