Has anyone caught any of the "adult oriented" jokes that warranted this stupid show being put on Adult Swim?  I don't know if I'm looking good enough or if I am looking too hard for them...

[adult swim] Put Pee Wee's Playhouse on because it's a good, funny, and very odd, show. Not because they have adult jokes...

That too and because mainly people who are intended to watch adult swim would most likely remember this show when being a kid or likey understand it. And this show isn't stupid.

No.pee-wee's playhouse is children oriented even though it's been viewed by all ages and that's why it was put on adult swim.

I remember that, but that scene felt kind of edited they probably told the writers to change the script.

Well just on last nights episode there was one.  Reba is over there and Pee Wee wants to write a letter, so he gets a novelty sized pencil.  Reba then asks Pee-Wee if he has a big enough pencil there.  God if only I got that when I was a kid.  Priceless.

I might get in trouble for this, but I think the real reason Pee Wee's is on [adult swim] is because Pee Wee was arrested twice, once for streaking in a public place, That is why Pee Wee was taken off air to begin with.

He didn't "streak," he allegedly exposed himself/masturbation in (the bathroom) of an adult movie theatre. Also, Reubens ended Pee-wee's Playhouse before the incident, CBS just dropped the reruns afterward.

Did you get that off of Wikipedia? That isn't always right... He was arrested for streaking the first time.

I think the second time was because he had child pornography.

In the episode "Pajama Party", there are a couple of minor things that I caught:
One, Pee-wee asks Miss Yvonne if he can "watch" her change into her pajamas. He was only kidding, I think
Two, Cowboy Curtis mentions that he sleeps in the nude. Yikes!!! Thanks for that image.

Also, on this night's episode of Game show network's "Star Face," they showed Paul Reuben's mug shot. Heh heh.

Has anyone seen the nightclub act the show was based on.  I think Comedy Central used to show it, back in the days when standup was their main content.  The show was one long dirty joke.

Pee Wee's Playhouse was first called the Pee-Wee Herman Show, airing on HBO only, an agent found it, and turned it into a children's show.
here's a clip from the original:

    and anther one:

The second one's an 'adult oriented joke' with Shoe Mirrors...

Those are some good links, CreepyPhantom.

Here are couple more from "Dr. Pee-wee and the Del Rubios:"

I thought Pee-wee was going to look under Reba the mail lady's dress when he dropped the doctor's headband thing.

Also, this could be taken a different way:
Pee-wee: You must have a green thumb.
    Jambi: Among other things.
