Pee-wee isn't there for most of the episode and Miss Yvonne finds a "FOR SALE" sign outside. It's like a clip show. They remember things did in the playhouse. And then they decide to try to get Pee-wee to change his mind. Do you want to know what happens at the very end?

The very last episode of the series is "Playhouse for Sale." It is just a bunch of flashbacks from previous episodes.

I own the complete series on DVD. You should buy/rent the show and see for yourself.

For the record the Playhouse really ISN'T for sale. Pee-Wee revealed that his "for sale" sign is actually a"Lemonade For Sale" sign, but the top sign with the word "lemonade" fell off giving the "for sale" idea. The play isn't for sale, and Pee-Wee states that he wouldn't sell if for any amout of money, and the final episode ends the same as any other; Pee-Wee gets his scooter out, puts his eyeball helmet on, says the secret word (ironic what the secret WORD is), and ejects out in the normal credits.

And it was highly thought that Pee-Wee's Playhouse ended because of Paul Ruben's mishap in a Florida movie theater, but in reality, Paul Herman wanted CBS to end the show where it is, but no one knows why he wanted to finish the show, maybe he just didn't feel like being a 38-year-old (that old, wow) guy acting like a preteen child anymore. Who knows?
