Fans of Pee-wee's Playhouse, got some bad news.

As per notification from Adult Swim's "bumps" Pee-wee's Playhouse is gone from Cartoon Network's A.S.

This program has been replaced by Smoking Gun, a NON-CARTOON puppet program according to Adult Swim bumps.

Maybe Pee-Wee's Playhouse will change it's time to 12:30a.m. but that may be too premature.

In the meantime, this program should be on another channel. Not sure which one though.

    So soon??
I thought they were just going to cut it down to Sunday airings but I guess they changed their minds.
Well, that's a shame. It's a good show. I hope they add it back sometime soon.

I know that. It's just that they air all the episodes of other programs and run it as "endless cycle" (in other words reruns 'til they take it off) This program didn't have one of those instances this time, unfortunately.

wait, so it's off completely? that only reason i would ever tune into Adult Swim was because of Pee-wee, and just because all the re-runs were aired, they're booting it off?

It's currently off the air on adult swim but could still be seen on Adult Swim on Demand at Comcast Digital Cable.

Such bull. Just like invader zim, they just love to boot the show completely off regular cable onto special cable.

Don't they air the reruns on sydication later in their runs?

Also, he's not gone bythe least bit. Someone picked up his script for the PWH Movie and they are starting production this year (well at least plan to). The only issue is him slimming down into the old suit. He bust it wide open on the Conan when he was on there last summer. Also, he must get in touch with the old  crew. The scheme directors plan to digitalize the playhouse items and he's been calling up trying to fnd the old cast. Laurence Fishbourne (Cowboy Curtis) is sort of iffy with the restoration of his character. So we will see for sure over the next decade what will happen when it comes to the legendary "big kid".

OK, so Pee-wee's Playhouse has been canciled off the Adult Swim block but that doesn't mean it will never be aired again. You can still buy the entire series and the Christmas Special on DVD like I did. But should they decide to bring this show back on TV, I think it should be broadcast in syndication weekday mornings on stations like My Network, FOX, or CW with agreement from a company like Tribune Entertainment.

I don't know about the On Demand either. Currently there's 3 episodes available On Demand, and they haven't installed a new airing lately, so I think when they finish with the 3 episodes that are currently on demand, that could be yanked away too. But you know what, it's actually a good thing that they have all these TV series on DVD, not like VHS where they put only certain TV episodes on tape. DVD gives you the entire TV series (or season), and just in case if they never air your show such as Ninja Turtles (1987), it's better to get it on DVD; the picture is better, the episodes are in order, and you don't have to worry about TV schedules. So I'd suggest get the DVD TV series, it's better than broadcast TV and confusing schedules.
