  • Bar none - this is the funniest episode thus far in the entire run of the show. Truly painful to watch but absolutely gut bustingly funny!

Penn and Teller have done a fantastic job of taking on some very serious topics both this season and in past seasons. Let's face it, when you take on Mother Theresa, you're not pulling any punches. However, this episode on hair was a nice departure from the serious subjects and the result was comic gold.

Penn explains at the start of the episode that neither he nor Teller really have much vested interest in the topic. Sure it a billion dollar industry, but neither of them really care much about their own hair, so they really have no stake in the subject matter. Well that's a recipe for letting the guys just let loose with the humor and it pays off in spades.

The guests lack some of the high brow credentials found in other episodes, but since we're only talking about hair and not global warming, it's easy to take it in stride and focus on comb overs and other extremes that people will go to to keep hair on their head. Following Mike Davis as he explores option after option of hair restoration is both sad and funny at the same time.

However the funniest moments in the show come from three people that the show's producers got from posting an ad on These three people we learn have volunteered to a waxing. Two men and a woman go in to remove hair from their body via wax and we're along from the ride. Throughout the show, we cut back to scenes of them having hair removed from the body and it's an absolute riot.

Having hair removed via waxing is VERY painful, so watching these volunteers was not easy. It's obvious that the 3 CraigsList respondants are not enjoying the experience, but you know what they say, "One man's pain is another man's gain", and seeing someone getting waxed can be very, VERY funny.

I hope that Penn and Teller find more topics that they don't give a flip about, because this was by far their funniest episode. A total laugh riot. Until then, I suppose I'll have to watch Comb Over The Movie. :P
