    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • When she is trying to join the mailing list, Alison Webster gives her postcode in Brighton as BN4 4JR. Brighton postcodes start "BN1," "BN2," "BN41," "BN50," and "BN88." No six-figure UK postcode starts "BN4."

      • Roy Mallard's reflection can be seen (from the neck down) in a frosted glass partition while Madeleine is sending a fax.

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Roy Mallard: Mark and Sarah are first-time buyers. They've been renting for two years since they first met on an orienteering weekend in Andover, Salisbury, Devizes, Salisbury, and Devizes.

      • Nick Levick: Many people think it's a really easy job, money for old rope. In actual fact it's bloody hard work, the trick is to make it look easy - it's a bit like bullfighting.

      • Roy Mallard: It's no surprise that estate agents are so often compared to synchronised swimmers. No matter how much pressure they are under, no matter how complex the manoeuver, their skill is to make their clients think that nothing could be easier and that the chances of anyone drowning are slight.
