7/4/06Babcock has unexpectedly proposed to Pepper, and they find themselves walking down the aisle together. Unfortunately for Pepper, she learns that Babcock's proposal isn't motivated out of love.
6/27/06Pepper investigates the owner of a dating service after Kimmy, looking for Mr Right, signs up and becomes suspicious of the service.
6/20/06Pepper is sent to prison when she refuses to reveal one of her sources. Soon Pepper uncovers a scandal at the prison that has remained undetected for several years.
6/6/06Pepper and the news team are nominated for several journalism awards, however, Pepper is disappointed when her parents refuse to come to the awards ceremony. Kathy attends a sex toy party, and things go sour when she slips on one of the toys and has to wear a neck brace.
5/30/06Pepper meets Grady Harper, a quarterback. Soon a relationship blossoms between the two, though Babcock suspects Harper is gay and using Pepper as his cover. Meanwhile, Pepper attends a high school reunion.
5/23/06Pepper gets a lead on a story from her current date, the new mayor, but then realizes he used her report to further his agenda. Meanwhile, Kathy plans to boost morale at the station by holding birthday parties, and she discovers Pepper and Babcock share the same date.
5/16/06After finding dirt on a popular politician just to win a bet with Babcock, Pepper feels guilty when the candidate's numbers drop in the polls. Determined to correct her mistake, she digs even deeper and finds herself getting close to the man. Meanwhile, Kathy schemes to get her job back when the nasty former receptionist returns after maternity leave.moreless
5/9/06Pepper is close to breaking a celebrity-murder-trial story when she is forced to take a vacation by the new station manager. Already upset at losing the story, she is further startled to learn the boss wants to change to a "news-a-tainment" format instead of the hard-hitting journalism she practices.
5/2/06Pepper tries to change her image after testing as too harsh and intense with viewers, but her attempts to soften up go horribly wrong and sink her ratings even lower. Babcock offers to help, but Pepper finds his advice difficult to follow.
4/25/06Pepper's fluff piece about a high-society wedding she is attending takes a serious turn when the bride vanishes, but Pepper has a bigger problem to deal with: her mother is also on the guest list and tries to pair her up with any eligible man she can find at the event.moreless
4/18/06Pepper is forced to visit a shrink after she causes an angry riot during a live interview at a church. Things only go further downhill when she is taken hostage while trying to get an exclusive.
4/11/06Pepper decides to go undercover to bust a prostitution ring at a club and sees someone unexpected there. Back at the station, she finds herself in a compromising position with Babcock during a sexual-harassment seminar, causing her to reconsider her feelings for him. Meanwhile, Kathy reconsiders her divorce and agrees to go back to her husband.moreless
