    Perry is paid a visit by a Dorrie Ambler who wants him to verify her identity. Shady private eye Phil Arthur has been paying her to frequent certain places around town and Dorrie thinks it's because she bears a strong resemblance to madcap heiress Minerva Minden. After some digging, Perry finds out that Minerva might have been involved in a hit-and-run accident and it appears as though Dorrie is being used to prove that. Then the private eye gets killed and Perry discovers the truth about Dorrie Ambler. She and Minerva are one and the same. But who was the woman who got burned beyond recognition in the car accident who was believed to be Dorrie Ambler?moreless

    Former swimming champion Victoria Dawn is now overweight, out of shape, and the owner of a chain of failing health spas. Desperate to regain some of her former glory she hires young actress Regina "Reggie" Lambert to impersonate her in a swim across the Catalina Channel to Los Angeles. Reggie runs into trouble along the way in her swim but is rescued by boat captain Charlie Shaw. Later that night, Victoria is discovered murdered, having been planning to abscond with her company's finances, and Reggie gets charged with the murder.

But when he tries his charms on Enrico Bacio, Paulo runs into a problem. It seems as though there was bad blood between the Porro and Bacio clans back in Sicily. Unable to get at any money due to Mona's absence, Hannibal has ditzy model Bonnie Dunbar write a blackmail note to Mona's uncle. Everett gets the money out of petty cash and sends it to Bonnie. In the meantime, Mona returns, finds Bonnie's blackmail note, and decides to pay the model a visit. So does Hannibal. Without seeing each other, husband and wife both discover Bonnie's dead body. Mona gets arrested for the murder but she fears that Hannibal might be the real killer.moreless
