This episode is not very spectacular when you
exclude Zeme North and Ryan O'Neal from it.

Deborah Dearborn has written a million-selling
book,unknowingly,about John Carew's stepmother
Stephanie.As a result,she cannot sign any more
contracts on the book as a safeguard.But
Stephanie has other plans: to have Deborah not
only sign the contract,but collect all the money
the movie makes.Although Deborah doesn't sign,
a set of circumstances beyond her control result
in Stephanie being murdered and she is charged
with Stephanie's murder.Perry Mason,through his
ever-dependable private investigator Paul Drake,
is able to find out the truth and reveal the
Zeme North puts on her best performance of
her acting career and Ryan O'Neal is equally
splendid in this rather ordinary episode,and
because of their performance,raise an otherwise
dull episode to an above average rating.
