  • Another good episode with a twist, which makes this a worth seeing episode for Perry Mason fans.

This episode is slightly different from other episodes. In other episodes Perry has to discover his client is trying to protect someone. In this episode the accused (Comic Charlie Hatch) tells Perry up front he is protecting his former girl friend.

At one point, he asked Perry if it isn't true the police won't continue with a case if they lose in the courtroom. Perry agrees he never knew of a case where the police continue their investigation once they lose a case. Perry also tells Charlie he is playing a dangerous game because he might have too much stuff going against him. He tells Perry he doesn't care.

After talking with the bank manager Paul suggests the girl friend might be guilty. Perry says he can't go down that path as his client might stand up and say he is guilty.

Charlie's openness with Perry is a breath of fresh air to the regular cookie cutter scripts of other episodes. The writers did a good job on this episode.

The acting, as always, is great to superior.
