  • Excellent well-crafted show with superb performances

An excellent episode. This series is really growing on me, not for its writing credentials, but for the performances of its two main characters. Cavizel and Emerson bond in a very special way, the synergy is spot on. The stories are perhaps a little predictable, but the synergy between the main characters and the occasional surprises keep it fresh. Definitely worth following.
  • Same old, same old

Sets up the whole Elias arc, but this show is getting pretty predictable and repetitive.
  • Amazing use of flashbacks in this episode that aren't confusing, and actually deepen the character's backstory.

While the story was fine (about an 8), the real uptick in my score comes from the two lead actors' talents:

Caviezel shone, ESPECIALLY in the airport scenes with his ex. "Wait for me....please," has never looked so passionate, deep and, yes, haunted.

Emerson does fussy and ecclectic so very well. Make sure to catch the scene where he's reading and doing a separate 'exercise' at the same time...FABULOUS!

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Reese: Hey, Finch, I just got the call. Gang's picking me up. I get told the target en route.
Finch: You're not going in with them?
Reese: I got to watch Joey's back. I don't trust his friend Straub one bit.
Finch: I did not understand "infiltrate the gang" to mean "join them in their robbery."

    • Jessica: I waited for you.
Reese: I didn't ask you to.
Jessica: No. No, you didn't. You just left because you thought you'd get killed over there and that would hurt me. But I think the truth is that it was easier for you to be alone.
Reese: That's one of the things you learn over there. In the end we're all alone and no one's coming to save you.

    • Finch: (revealing the criteria used to identify Persons of Interest) I built the Machine to look for lethal intent... armed robbery wouldn't normally make the cut.

    • Reese: Good morning, Finch.
      Finch: Don't you knock?
Reese: Not if I can help it.

    • Finch: Do we even know why he's such a mess? He's got a job, pretty girlfriend, good service record--he's throwing it all away. He's going to end up in prison. Or dead.
Reese: You're right, but... not every ex-soldier meets a reclusive billionaire.

    • Carter: I keep looking for you. I keep finding myself in some bad situations.
Reese: You could always stop looking for me.
Carter: Not an option. Now I've got two more bodies. I don't think you killed those guys. But I think you know who did.
Reese: I'll take care of it.
Carter: Playing a dangerous game. And I'm not sure I understand why.
      Reese: I've got my reasons.
Carter: Maybe you do. But every killer I locked up thought they had a good reason. And that is how this ends. Sooner or later, I lock you up. Or find you bleeding out somewhere.
Reese: I will take my chances.
