  • Trivia

    • Charlie is identified several times as a history teacher. However, when he goes to Will's apartment, he speaks as if the literature book that Will is reading is homework for his class.

  • Quotes

    • Reese: What's his story, Finch?
Finch: He's a high school history teacher working in the Brighton Beach school district. Lives alone, never married--not much to go on.
Reese: Well, maybe a student's after him. You know, teaching can be a dangerous profession.
Finch: Yes, I imagine espionage was a much safer choice, Mr. Reese.

    • Reese: Sir, you have a Russian hit team closing in, which leaves us with approximately five seconds before you need to make a decision.
Charlie: How do I know you're not one of them?
Reese: Because I'm standing in front of you and you're still alive.

    • Reese: Well, you won't do those kids any good if you're dead, Mr. Burton.
Charlie: Charlie, please--"Mr. Burton" is for my students.
Reese: Do you want to die, Charlie? Because this isn't a history lesson. Those bullets are real.

    • Charlie: What is that?
Reese: (tending his bullet wound) Cocaine.
Charlie: I guess there's a first time for everything. Is that glue?
Reese: Yeah. Nothing like over-the-counter polymer to close a wound in a pinch.
Charlie: You learn all this in hero training?
      Reese: Something like that.

    • Reese: Mind if I borrow this for a moment?
      Laszlo: Screw you.
Reese: It's a bad move to insult your hostage taker, Laszlo. Keep your mouth shut, or I'll shut it permanently.

    • Will: Edmond's cool. A survivor, you know? Even though he got his revenge, some bad stuff still stuck with him.
Referencing the 1844 novel The Count of Monte Cristo, written by Alexandre Dumas and Auguste Maquet. "Edmond" is Edmond Dantès, a merchant seaman who is unjustly imprisoned for 14 years. Once Edmond escapes, he uses his hidden treasure to create an identity for himself as the enigmatic Count of Monte Cristo and sets out to gain revenge on the man responsible for his imprisonment.
