Person to Person hosted by Edward R. Murrow who interviewed celebrities, politicians, writers and other well-known people on this weekly series. A different type of series than Murrow's "See It Now" program. The interviews were done live at the homes of the interviewees. This was a bit of a chore considering the cables and equipment needed at that time to set up the interviews. This high class program offered a more intimate view of the chosen subject, an insight that only Edward R. Murrow could do. Charles Collingwood took over hosting duties in October 16, 1959 the 7th season. Edward R. Murrow continued his work occassionally thru CBS Reports with specials he worked on himself. The program continued until December 1960 and did not return until the last leg of it's journey in June 1961 to September 15, 1961.moreless
