NBC (ended 2010)
Level two is fine, but otherwise it might as well have just ended "and they all woke up and found out it was all a dream" for all the good the ending was. I feel let down about this and that my time was wasted. This was not good story-telling.
Huh, Half-way decent episode for the most part. Overall plot was somewhat effective; the ending however I did find oddly amusing in regards to the cycle repeating yet again for them.
Do we even really know what the program is even about or why they went through such preposterous methods to recruit people?
That was ridiculous. For all the "all will be answered" promos, this is pathetic. And even though the network promised the entire series would air, many of their affiliates (New York, Detroit, Seattle, to name three) chose to preempt at least a few episodes. And as for that episode 11 that could only be seen online...well, it can only be seen online in the United States. Outside the country (I'm in Canada), we're out of luck.
NBC made promises with this series and failed in many ways to follow through. It will be a long time before I invest in a continuing story on this network again.
If there had been the promised resolution on the final episode, I would've bought the DVDs to get the complete story. Not after tonight's finale! Shame on NBC Universal.
All the promo's said "By the end of summer, all will be revealed." Is there coming out another episode or something, or have NBC been lying in their promo's? One thing I did not understand that should have been answered was WHAT the program was.
They were allways talking about their dedication to the program, and that they believed in it. But why would they "believe" in capturing people and keep them in a town until they kill eatch other? That doesn't make sense at all.
And the theory that the program was all about recruiting the prisoners to their company also doesn't make sense. Why recruite someone to a program only to make them recruite more prisoners? It's an endless cycle that's just stupid.
All the promo's said "By the end of summer, all will be revealed."
Seriously. Blatant false advertising by NBC. The key thing that had to be revealed would be what is up with the program, and they didn't explain it at all.
I turned into this show because I thought it was just going to be a mini series with some sort of resolution. And NBC kept announcing "all would be revealed" but nothing was. I at least wanted to know something about the company.
Gotta agree with all of the disappointed people ending was half assed at best and too many unanswered questions most pressing for me are did Janets mother sell her out or did the program kidnap her again and how did Charlie know the name of Blackham's wife
did Janets mother sell her out or did the program kidnap her again
I liked the ending, except for the unanswered questions of course. I mean, can you really imagine Janet raising her daughter in Mexico and smiling as the camera panned out? That would be beyond cheesy and would imply that the program just gave up on her, which is not realistic, because it's been repeatedly mentioned that the program can do whatever the hell it wants and not get caught.
I would rather have the hostages take down the program realistically or the series end with a conclusion like the one it did end with. With the time crunch, this was the only way to go and reiterates the point that you just can't escape the program, which is sad, but it's reality in that particular universe.
Did anyone elsethink it was interesting that Renbe referred to Janet as his wife for the first time in the series when he met Joe? (something like: "Whathave you done to my wife, Janet Cooper?")and that he didn't even ask about Kat? Whenever he was withKat he referred to Janet as his ex-wife... I like to think that he does harbor some feelings for Janet still, which he didn't completely rule out the possibility of.(I like the possibility of Renbe/Janet reuniting, I mean, he did SO much for her...)
Yikes, with the addition of Renbe, Janet would be stuck in a love pentagon (Ulrich, Joe, Erika, Renbe and Herself)...o_0
Anybody else think Janet was an idiot for falling asleep in that cheap motel? I mean, she can sleep all she wants LATER, but at that moment, it would NOT be safe to do so.
