main I loved this series because everything about it was weird in a unique, compeling way.
Firstly when i watched the original first episode i was unsure about the animation, i thought it was too unwatchable,
but sure enough the next week i watched (because nothing else was on) the next installment and found it(the animation) no so bad- and more watchable.
then there was the shows premice, that it was set in the future... i hadn't seen anything like this when i was a kid it was awsome with the back to the future/jetsons flying hover-vehicles.
there was the hidden meaning in the story. for instance the treating of the robots/biots like slaves and workers, was an echo of society from a few centuries ago. and then there was showing the human side of robots by having
the fractal a shape-changing, half human biot that could show emotion (almost like data from star trek)
then the use of characters themselves. the cast had quite a large number compared to other standards, all of each would all have a positive or negative effect on the hero (Kit/Phantom
stories i found to differ from week to week, some were fantastic, most were above average, and a couple were poor.
this is what i think now after watching them again recently
So the Phantom got the futurusation treatment here. I'm personally a fan of the original Phantom ,and I'm not exactly thrilled about what they have done to him in this show ,but this show is not all that bad. I'm not exactly a fan of Peter Chung's animation style. First time I saw this show ,I was disscused who does Phantom look like. He looked so tall and skinny. But I got used to it ,soon. If you like sci fi and futuristic shows ,watch this show - you'll love it. But I think you'll be dissapointed if you decide to watch it because of your favorite comicbook hero.
He is in prison for breaking the AVO and that just by trying to call her. She is upset about it and want to help him. It is just so unfair on him all this and he asks her if they can use her money shes going to spend on buying Alexes part of the gym to buy him out. He tells her that she will get her money back because he knows Kane is going to win the court case and it is important to him that his friends have trust in him. She is not sure if getting him out of prison is the right thing, but she agree with him and gives him the money to get him home.
Great show. Very innovative. Instead of supervillains, there were weird scary foes like Graft, the guy with a mangled body that would combine with machines or the fat lady in a hover craft. I don't know how people could dislike this show. Admittedly it shouldn't have been so dark considering it was a kid's show but regardless, it was well designed and worthy of some leverage. With a better writing staff and some additional villains and a longer run, it might have caught on with people. Phantom 2040 would have actually made a good movie as adults would have no trouble believing in technology based villains and evil corporations.
