Phantom Quest Corps

Show Summary

"In the sixth year of the Heisei period, according to the National Tax Administration, more than two million companies are listed in Japan. They are catagorized as limited and Unlimited Partnerships- Joint-Stock Corporations, and Limited Companies. However, there is only one business that does not belong to any type of company catagory. The company is rumored to be a ghost company, a phantom company, and a mysterious company... This company is owned by Ayaka Kisuragi, whose job is to exterminate evil spirits and various kinds of monsters. Many may consider this a most unusual business... This company is called the Phantom Quest Corporation (You-Gen-Kai-Sya)." That is how each episode starts. The show is about Ayaka, her right-hand guy Mamoru, Lt. Karino of U Division, and a slightly rotating roster of supernatural help. The three we see are Madame Suimei, Rokkan, and Nanami. Suimei is a typical-seeming fortune teller, Rokkan is a priest, and Nanami is a high school student and new to her pyrokinetic powers. The team face otherworldly dangers that endanger Tokyo and the the world, but there's humor too!moreless

  • Worse movie ever.

    5.0
Worse movie ever. Well actually that's being very harsh. After all, I'm sure the production company had put a lot of effort in producing this and trashing it like I am doing right now seems downright unfair. However, I can't forgive those who waste my time with something like this. Why did I pick up something called Phantom Quest Corps in the first place?
  • A Horromedy(horror/comedy) that satisfies the spooky/gross/funny bone in the audience. Plus? Fun Themes!

    8.0
A fun mix of genres, with an emphasis on comedy, is a great way to spend four thirty minute chunks of time!

Ayaka Kisuragi, the president of Phantom Quest Corporation, runs a business of exorcism and whatever else is needed to deal with supernatural events. That she's a chronic drinker/karaoke-er/late bill payer? No big. Especially as she actually is good at her job, which is something she comes across actually caring about.

Lt. Karino, of U Division, tends to get belittled (for no apparent reason), but a more stalwart and stolid ally is hard to find!

Mamoru, the accountant/housekeeper/boss wrangler/ trivia master, is the oil that keeps the cogs of the business working. He gathers the intell, pays the bills and subcontractors, gets the boss lady to meetings, and calls in the appropriate help!

Madame Suimei, Rokkon, and Nanami are the three "subcontractors", besides Lt. Karino, that get featured in this quartet of episodes, but they leave a delightful impression!

That they take on Dracula, a ghost, a Faustian deal/organ ring, and a very questionable group of rival "exterminators" was tantalizing! There was more that could've been done, but the four episodes available are a fun time.

Try Dancin' With A Demon for a half hour; you'll like it!moreless
  • Hello? Is anybody out there? This show isn't as bad as people here seem to think. It's quite funny actually.

    8.2
I was rather surprised to see that the show obviously is liked so little by the people on this site.

Admittedly the four episodes of Phantom Quest Corps aren't the best animée out there, but they are descent, nevertheless. I personally find them amusing whenever I choose to watch them again.

The stories are done quite well, even though they're not terribly innovative. The main characters are done quite well, too.

I especially like the first episode, since the idea of a 'real' vampire working in a tea room and being extremely shy is rather funny and quite new.

The other three episodes are quite interesting, too, even though there's not as much action or humour as some people might be looking for.

So come on, people, give the show a chance, you might be positively surprised by it.moreless
