i did like this episode...we find out a little more about barbara's family in this episode...her whole life with her mom and grandma depends on kyle and it also determines whether pim and phil are born, too. i loved how they were supposed to avoid him and they can't because kyle seems to be everywhere...i love how funny it is with kyle being a trouble maker...his pranks are flawed and it is funny when hackett catches him and then takes him to detention in a very creative way...i love when phil messes up and keeps him from getting expelled and then realizes he was supposed to get expelled...i love pim's plan and how awesome, thorough, and fool-proof it is...then everything is supposedly back to normal...but he still doesn't find the right girl until phil goes after him to make sure history goes as it is supposed to.moreless
  • It was on of best episodes if the finale is like this one the show will go out with a bang but i hope disney does a season 3.

This it why i love time travel becuse of all that can happen I mean it get so confusing the one thing is that Phil only has some of the good ones and they could do so much more with this show it not it time to end. why is disney like this doing this.
  • Surprisingly Good!

    9.5
I used to be a huge Phil of the Future fan, and I still am, just not as much as I used to be. But tonight when I watched this episode, that all changed again and I'm a Phil fan all the way!

I just can't say enough good things about this episode. At first, from the previews, I thought it might just turn out to be like the other episodes that are good but just aren't great. But, after watching it, I realized that this episode is very special. It is just a great example of what this series is about.

The only reason though that I gave it a 9.5/10 and not a perfect 10/10 is because I know that the series is canceled and I won't get a chance in the future to watch more great episodes like this one.

  • did you now that this episode of phil of the future has already been shown in the U.K i think it was sometime in april on the disney channel

this episode is very funny. but i thought they could have written it a little bit better. even though it wasn\'t the best written episode of the season it was cleverly plotted as phil and pim knew who he was they just didn\'t no that he was there great-great grandfarther. and now they no they try to hide from him when ever he is around. pim is discraced because she thinks that he is the worst prankster shes ever seen and people will laugh at her if they find out kyle (G.G.Grandfather)is related to her so being pim she has to do something.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Goof: At the end of the episode when Lloyd thinks that his family disappeared he should have realized that they didn't because if they did he would have no memory of them and he wouldn't be in the present, he wouldn't have still been in the future. With no family, he wouldn't have taken a "FAMILY" vacation.

    • Goof: Barbara says that the Speckles have only been in the U.S. since the early 21st century. If Kyle has only been in the U.S. for such short time, why does he have no trace of a foreign accent?

  • QUOTES (1)

    • Keely: Phil, he's telling the truth. He's not going to do any more pranks. What are we going to do?
(Phil starts disappearing and reappears again)
Keely: Okay, you're really freaking me out.

  • NOTES (0)

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • When Phil and Keely ask Pim for help, she is acting out the famous scene from the godfather. She even talks like Marlon Brando's Character Don.

    • The way Phil couldn't talk to his great-great grandfather was like in the episode of Futurama titled Roswell that Ends Well when Fry goes back in time and meets his own grandfather and cannot interact with him or else he wouldn't exist.

    • The moment Phil steps in to take the blame over Kyle's (his great-grandfather) misfortune, he altered history by preventing Kyle from meeting his future wife at military school. This was very similar to the 1985 film, Back to the Future, where Marty McFly travels to 1955 and does the same; although he prevented his teenage dad from meeting his teenage mom. In other words, both scenarios involve a "ripple effect" inflicted upon them.
