  • the school was going to burry a time capsule and found out that they were the ones opening it in the future

it was the best episode.............. does anyone know the title of the song that was playing when barb and loy were dating under the tree or when keely and phil were under the tree???????????

It was a bit confusing because how could it be that they were still dating and phil and pim werent still born and renting the time machine was a bit too early
  • My favorite episode of the series!

This has to be my favorite episode of the series. It was very well written and funny. I really enjoyed the part where Ben Savage made a surprise guest appearance! I guess it helps that his brother was directing the episode! But set that aside, this was was a great episode. Poor Keely didn't even know that Phil was going to leave! It's always hard to see Phil and Keely fight, thankfully they never stay mad at each other for too long. The heartwarming speech Phil gave before he put the letter in the time capsule was amazing. Great episode!moreless
  • Phil's dad realizes that if Phil sends a note into the Time Capsule at H.G. Wells, then they could avoid the whole time travel fiasco altogether! One catch- Keely and Phil wouldn't remember each other...moreless

This, in my opinion, was the best PotF episode to date. The writing was spectacular, especially considering it was a Disney show (not a shot at Disney, just exceptionally deep. Keep up the great work, you lovely writers, you!). The Phil and Keely plot tied in nicely with the Younger Lloyd and Younger Barbara plot... I love how connected and similar Phil and Keely were even at young ages, where the music box was the first thing to make either child smile. Nice moment there. Phil's dedication to Keely was great, as was Keely's reaction to it. The carving of the names into the tree was really what won me over, though trees would grow from the top, it was still a great moment... and a great reminder.moreless
  • You see so many connections how Phil sort of knows Keely and is used in future and the past! This has to be one of the greatest episodes of anything possible. One word: Pheely!moreless

This was a real tearjerker. Seeing the engraving in the tree in the future really won me over. The Binky Boosey Box was a good connection too. It had good jokes, and kept my eyes glued to the television. When this epiosde comes on, I just think what could happen. I also like it how the note could've brought them to the future, but was used as a napkin. A creative episode!moreless
  • Phil finds out that the time capsule Barb and Lyodd found in the future is being buried at Phil's school so they want him to write a note in it telling them not to get a time machine. Will Phil do it?moreless

This episode is awesome! (spoiler alert ahead):

    Here's a sneak peak:

Phil: But I want to remember the most special, wonderful person I know: Keely Teslow.

He said it, not me! One of my favorite episodes, I give it an 8.9 out of 10. Great acting with lots of emotion. I highly recomend it. If you want to get a better summary, ask me.

  • TRIVIA (8)

    • Goof: When Pim throws the sack of money into the capsule thinking it will go to the future with her, she is wrong. It would only make it to the future if it remained in its spot. Naturally someone would take it out of the capsule some time after that. The note would go to the future unnoticed because no one has any reason to remove it from the capsule. Also the paradox of Pim never existing in the past, and never raising the money in the first place also explains the fact of the money never making it to the future.

    • Goof: Lloyd says that he found the capsule on one of his and Barbara's famous picnic dates. Although in the flash back at the end of the episode he says that they are going to rent a time machine. Why would they do this if Phil and Pim weren't born yet?

    • Goof: Scientifically, if something is engraved (or in this case, printed) on a tree near its trunk, especially at the base, it will stay the same height above ground, no matter how tall the tree grows, even in one century.

    • In a hundred years, H.G. Wells Jr/Sr High School was torn down and replaced with a park, when this change occured is unknown.

    • Goof: Did the family rent or buy the time machine? According to the theme song and the promos that preceded the premiere of the show, the family rented a time machine. But according to this episode, Lloyd bought the time machine from a store that sold used time machines (and water slides) while he and Barbara were dating. So which was it?

    • Although they are stuck in the past, according to the end of this episode Barbara and Lloyd were both originally from a future Pickford.

    • Goof: When the flashback is shown of Lloyd and Barb's picnic, it was supposed to be taking place when they first started dating. However, they are both wearing wedding bands in these flashbacks.

    • If the note were read and the advice followed, it would've created a time paradox. The Diffy's wouldn't have gone to the past; thus, the note wouldn't have been written. If the note weren't written, things would be how they are, with the Diffy's in the past, writing the note.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Pim: Start forkin' over the green stuff! The higher the domination, the sooner this bell stops ringing!

    • Phil: I thought being remembered a hundred years from now wasn't important. But I'd give a hundred years of memories just to remember the most important, special, wonderful person I've ever met...Keely Teslow.

  • NOTES (1)

    • Apparently Pim is still Science Club President from when in Versa Day, when Phil in Pim's body made her become the president.

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Keely: (sing-songy) Twenty-first Century Phil!

When Keely says this, she does so in a sing-songy way, similar to the show's theme song/lyrics. However, she replaces "22nd Century Man" with "21st Century Phil."

    • Time Release Capsule is a play off of a medical term usually used for aspirin capsules.
