  • Great episode

    10
This is a great episode imo. It captures the essence of Phineas and Ferb nicely. well written, good plot etc. Memorable scenes and so forth.

The musical sequence was good, so were the Candace and Perryshmirtz subplots. The main plot was overlooked by these somewhat, which in no way detracted from it at all. Good to see Doofenshmirtz is back to taking over the tri state area after his Lake Nose Drakken impersonation...

Not too many good references to Sherlock Holmes, but then again not many Americans would read the books that much. All in all a good episode all round.moreless

    • Doofenshmirtz: Perry the Platypus! Well, who's your little friend here?
Double 00: I'm Agent Double 00, of her majesty's secret service.
Doofenshmirtz: "Double 00"? Isn't that just "triple 0"?
Double 00: No, that's not how it's said.
Doofenshmirtz: It spells "ooo", doesn't it?
      Double 00: It's "Double 00"!
Doofenshmirtz: He's "P" and you're "ooo", so together, you spell...
Double 00: You know, they're not "o"'s, they're zeros, alright?!
Doofenshmirtz: I was just gonna say "ooop". Looks like I struck a nerve there!

    • Double 00: What, that's it? No coordinates,no anything!?

Monogram: It was enough for the mammal.

      Inspector Initials: Oh, rawr!

    • Ferb: I will never understand fashion.

    • Double 00: You realize this man is a platypus.

Inspector Initials: They're American, Double 00. Just be glad it's a mammal.

      Major Monogram: Oh, rawr!

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (4)

    • During the sunrise scene, if you listen closely, you can hear the opening music of Peggle.

    • Sherlock Holmes
Candace imitates the great detective quite a bit during this episode, including wearing the clothing most commonly associated with Sherlock Holmes: the deerstalker hat and cape featured in Sydney Paget's illustrations for Strand Magazine.

Candace designates Stacy as Watson, Sherlock Holmes' most trusted companion. which has helped him in all of his most fascinating cases.

      Elementary, my dear Watson
The episode title comes from the famous phrase which was not actually said by Sherlock Holmes in any of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle works. The line was either first said in the 1929 movie The Return of Sherlock Holmes or in the 1899 stage production Sherlock Holmes.

    • Elementary, My Dear Stacy

The episode title alludes to the famous literary quote, "Elementary, my dear Watson," erroneosly applied to the famous literary creation, Sherlock Holmes, from the novels of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Not once in any of the original novels did Holmes ever utter those famous words until the movies.

    • James Bond Movies
000 and Initials are loosely based on 007 (Sean Connery) and M (Judi Dench) from the James Bond movies.

Inspector Initials is a parody of Bond's boss, M, as the character is currently being portrayed by Dame Judi Dench.

Double-O O's laser watch is similar to many gadgets that Bond has been equipped with over the years, most directly the laser watch featured in 1995's Goldeneye.

The ejection seat on Double-O O's Aston Martin is borrowed from Goldfinger. However, it was the passenger seat that had the ejection seat, not the driver. As Perry is sitting in the passenger seat, he should have been the one ejected, not Double-O O. It's possible this was a deliberate goof.

When Perry and Agent Double-O O are captured by Dr. Doofenshmirtz, they are under the ejection port of the Big Ben rocket, just like James Bond and Dr. Holly Goodhead were in Moonraker.
