    Okay, this has to stop.

    1. Candace does not hate her brothers. She loves her brothers. She tries to bust them because it drives her nuts that they're doing outrageous things and the parents are none the wiser. And that bugs her because the boys could get hurt. Plus Candace doesn't like not being believed. All pretty good reasons for her to bust in my opinion.

    2. She is not unattractive. Duh! Jeremy thinks she's hot. Other guy characters in the show have considered her hot. She's way hotter than Isabella.

    3. She is not evil. Also Duh!

    4. And whatever. There are too many dumb "let's hate Candace" comments on that other thread to bother with. Look, Candace is quirky and obsessed, but her obsession is what drives the show. If she reacted to P and F with "Oh cool, what did you build now, let's ride on it, WHEE!" there wouldn't be a storyline. One of the reasons P & F is such a good show is that the writers have emphasized that despite everything, Candace and her brothers love each other. Plus Candace's parents and friends understand her, tolerate her and love her despite her flaws. This mature view of her has helped make P & F popular with both genders and several generations. And it's made Candace a well-liked character. In lesser hands she'd be another Vicky from Fairly Oddparents, and who needs that?

    Got it now?

I don't hate Candace entirely, but it does bother me how she's being a killjoy towards her brothers and their friends and how paranoid she frequently is.

I agree the boys can do some pretty dangerous things sometimes, but instead of trying to bust them, Candace should tell them that their activity is dangerous and talk to them instead besides, Candace has done some pretty dangerous things herself (wrestling an alligator) Also, not everything the boys do is dangerous (being one-hit wonders is the only thing that comes to mind at the moment). Also, Lawrence has seen quite a few of the boys' inventions and even Linda has technically seen some of them.

While there are some stupid reasons for hating Candace in the other thread, there's also some legit reasons, (insulting Perry, using her friends for her own purposes).

Let's not forget some of her uncalled for insults: calling the boys evil, stating that Phineas did "an entire summer's worth of naughty things" in Christmas Vacation).

Plus, she was about to bust them on Phineas' birthday of all days. I know she didn't do so in the end, but she was originally going to and she only changed her mind when Phineas made his birthday speech. If Phineas never made that speech, Candace would've showed Linda the CD.

I think Candace tries to bust her brothers mainly for their own good. She just wants them safe and out of harm's way. That's what all older siblings want, for their younger siblings to be safe. That or she's jealous.

I think the latter is more likely.

I'm sorry but in my opinion, she ruins the show for me. I would actually love "Phineas and Ferb" if she wasn't so freakin' annoying and ugh, I don't even need to continue on. Hopefully, she gets absent in some of the episodes in the future. I just hate Candace... hate her, hate her, hate her

I think we all just get frustrated with her constant attempts to bust Phineas and Ferb. She may mean well, but if Phineas and Ferb really understood the truth behind her motives, I don't know if they would be as understanding.

Candace is the sole reason I watch this show, her character is the only one with spirit, between writing. facial expressions and body language I would swear that she was only one the creators put any thought into, there are many nuances to Candace that make her character superior to all of the other one dimensional characters on the show

I don't want to argue, but how are all the other characters flat characters?

Well it's almost like watching an elementary school play where they show up and recite their lines with no real feeling however with Candance there's always an intensity whether it's pining over Jeremy or being in full on bust mode one knows that her character has depth

Every now and then Isabella will make a comment, be it off handed or direct that implies that might be more to her than just her catchphrase, example whenever someone else says 'whatcha doin', she makes it a point of letting them know she isn't cool with that

I'm not doing a great job making the point I intended because alot of it is just under the surface but to make a long story short I'm looking for diversity in the character profiles,I mean they decide to build something, have fun with whatever they build, then have a snack and all of this while in the same emotional state,it all gets a bit mundane after awhile

Perfect example of what I'm saying just this morning I watched Skiddely Whiffers and Split Personality, Candace was all over the place and everyone else was the usual cardboard cutout and again it's not all behavior but there's also the dialogue and deliverance thereof that separates Candace from the rest

Oh, I see. So, if the other characters' demeanor changed during the episode, would you be more interested in them?

For me, the three reasons for NOT hating Candace, but instaead, LOVE her, are these: She's nice and pretty (she can be extremely sweet when she wants to), second, she's my favourite character in the show, and third, she's voiced by Ashley Tisdale, who happens to be one of my favourite actresses/rockers.

It's not that I don't care for the other characters in fact I do like them, even the secondary ones such as the fireside girls, susie, stacy etc., I just feel that Candace is more developed and prefer her to the others

Agreed. Candace is a wonderful character. That's why I like this show so much; every single character is good, even Lawrence, Linda and Perry. I think some people just don't understand the characters correctly and get the wrong impression.

Point proven. This person clearly does not understand P&F, otherwise they would know that they could never hate Candace (or anyone). Their genuine sincerity was what made me like them so much from the first moment I saw them. They never have any bad intentions. In fact, I can practically count on one hand the number of times that Phineas has ever so much as frowned (one wasn't even real, it was a scheduled part of his one-hit-wonder tantrum). The maddest he ever got was in the movie when he felt betrayed by Perry, and even that seemed out of character. I cannot recall Ferb ever getting even remotely upset. These boys take everything in stride which makes them so refreshing and appealing.

Yes, Candace is uptight and wound up, but that is her character. And she never has bad intentions for her brothers; we have seen on several occasions he remorse when they get in trouble. Busting them is just her gimmick on the show and perhaps an OCD symptom.

I think that Candace just doesn't understand Phineas and Ferb. Either that or she's jealous of them, and tries to bust them for her own feel of accomplishment.
