Episode Summary

EDIT
The boys build a rocket ship to get a good look at a star named for them, and Candace accidentally takes a ride with them just as she is trying to find the courage to ask Jeremy to a dance, while Isabella tries her best to do the same with Phineas. Meanwhile, Perry must stop Dr. Doofenshmirtz, who, not only is conveniently in space too, but has created a massive spacestation in an attempt to get revenge on "Huge-Hands-Hans".moreless

I wasn’t a huge fan of this episode, but it wasn’t too bad. Good to see another half hour episode though. Also nice to see Candace have a good subplot going, with her fear of asking Jeremy to the dance and dealing with her fears and everything. I definitely feel that the commercial should have come right before it did, and not waste time going back to the car parked on the space station. That extra few seconds really pulls you out of the excitement of wondering what’s next. IT was nice to see Candace face her fears at the end and ask Jeremy out, though. The Perry storyline wasn’t too interesting, and it seemed to last only as long as a regular 10 minute ep’s version would have anyway. Overall, not that great of an episode. Grade : C+moreless

Where to start, where to start....

All right, let's start with the plot. Phineas and Ferb building a rocket is something I've wanted to see them do for like, ever, since it was mentioned in the title sequence. And it turned out to be as interesting as I knew it would. Also, the little side-plot with Candace and Isabella trying to ask their respective crushes out to the dance was cute. Meanwhile, Doofy's up to his old games, trying to make a shadow puppet on the moon. Really, I can't see why Perry had to stop him, as that would've caused no destruction or chaos, but then again, he's Doofy, and has to be stopped...

Moving on to the songs. Well, I liked the little instrumental bit in the "Let's Take a Rocketship" song, plus the use of live-action footage was unexpected in a great way. The "Shooting Star Milkshake Bar" song... well, it wasn't terrible, but not one of my favorite songs ever.

There were some pretty hilarious parts of this episode: the "Does this suit make my butt look fat?" "Yes, yes it does" was one of my favorties. Plus Ferb's line was excellent, but I won't spoil it for you if you haven't seen it.

Overall, go watch it. Right now. I don't care if you've already seen it or it's one o' clock in the morning, go watch it!!!moreless

As Luke is making his run at the Death Star exhaust port, he tells Biggs it will be just like Beggar's Canyon back home.

    • The song "You've Got a Friend in Me" is somehow similar to "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Disney's Toy Story.

    • The Mission Control shed being bigger and an actual control room on the inside is a reference to Doctor Who, where The Doctor's TARDIS is bigger on the inside, whilst the outside it looks like a 1950's Police Box.

    • When Doofenshmirtz freezes Perry in a giant ice cube tray, he looks similar to Han Solo frozen in carbonite, from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.
