Episode Summary

Season 2 Episode 2
The Phoenix Club hosts a family fun day in the car park in order to raise the funds to reopen the club. Brian is annoyed that the bouncy castle he ordered has male genitalia hanging off the front of it, but it is transformed into Sammy the snake [a green sheet is thrown over it and it has "layed two snake's eggs."] Brin then reveals to Jerry his big pink paradise- a portable toilet with pennny chews in the condom machine and a ball pool made out of some scaffolding covered in bubble wrap and some old footballs from the roof. Jerry is not impressed, especially when he has to dress up as a giant red berry. Some children roll Jerry around in his costume after his opening number, while a friend of Ray Von's paints Young Kenny's face with spray paint. At the end, some mischevious children raise the pressure on the bouncy castle, lifting up the giant inflatable penis , which then exploded, leaving fifteen people with rubber burns that needed treatment in hospital.moreless

    • [Holy Mary is 'Madame Zelda' the fortune teller]
Holy Mary: Now, you may ask me two questions only.
Customer:A pound for two questions? That's a bit expensive isn't it?
Holy Mary: Yes it is love. And your second question?

    • Brian: Will somebody please tell me why we've got a bike on the wall?
Young Kenny: It's a theme pub. Brian: What's the theme? Hiroshima? Old ****

    • [talking about the inflatable Penis]

Jerry St Clair: We're not having that.
Brian Potter: You're damn right Jerry, we're not having that go on take it back.
      Dodgy Eric: But Brian...
Brian Potter: It's a family fun day man, there's kiddies running around. They can't go jumping up and down on a love length.

    • Dodgy Eric: Well what do you think?
Brian Potter: It's not a bouncy castle.
Dodgy Eric: You never said a castle.
Brian Potter: I said I wanted an inflatable.
Dodgy Eric: It is an inflatable.
      Brian Potter: Inflatable filth.

  • NOTES (1)

    • Young Kenny gets his face painted with tiger make-up, which is unable to be removed, he would stay this way until the end of the series.

    • Max and Paddy's scheme to fool the customs officers is taken from the 1981 film The Cannonball Run in which competitors race illegally across America. The film starred Burt Reynolds and Farrah Fawcett.

    • Ray Von advertises the Mobo-kart ride saying 'Fancy yourself as a bit of a Michael Schumacher?'. This is a reference to the German Formula One driver who has held seven World Championships.

    • Brian's 'Big Pink Paradise' contains parodies of the boy wizard Harry Potter, from the books by J.K.Rowling.

    • Brian calls Jerry 'Keith Moon' in reference to the drummer from British rock band The Who. Moon was known for his excessive drug use and died of an overdose of prescription medication in 1978.

    • Jerry proposes the 'Sir Steve Redgrave Suite' as a name for the new function room, in an allusion to the British rower who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic games.
