Pilger is a British documentary series on socio-political issues,
presented by war correspondent John Pilger in the early years of his
career. During each half hour episode that aired in five seasons from
1974 to 1977, he takes a close look at one theme and includes on-site
interviews with the affected people. Some of these Pilger documentaries
relate to war in Vietnam and prisoners on remand. 'An Unfashionable
Tragedy' (1975) focuses on the famine in Bangladesh. 'Nobody's Children'
(1975) deals with mentally handicapped children that are held in
pitiful conditions. 'A Faraway Country' (1977) details the dissident
Charter 77 movement of the Czech Underground.
