  • Allusions

    • The title is a nod to the name of the film Die Hard 2: Die Harder.

    • When Bob says to Precious "Kitty, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship", this is a nod to the famous final line of the film Casablanca, "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

    • Marlon Brando

This episode features several references to Marlon Brando movies:

-Dr. Mordough is physically based on Brando, who played the title role in the 1996 film version of H.G. Wells' The Island of Dr. Moreau. Like Mordough, Moreau was also a geneticist interested in gene splicing and DNA experimentation.

-Snowball claims that he sent his lawyers to Mordough's island, and they were never seen again. They are later found brainwashed. This is a reference to Apocalypse Now, in which Brando plays the renegade Colonel Walter Kurtz; several people sent to find Kurtz mysteriously disappeared, only to be discovered, now loyal to the Colonel.

-The scene is which Mordough sticks an orange wedge in his mouth is an homage to The Godfather; Don Vito Corleone (played by Brando) plays a similar game with his grandson just before dying.

-In another Godfather reference, Mordough says "I'll make the world a fruit salad it can't refuse," a take-off of Don Vito's line, "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse."
