A rare intergalactic event, a dilithium matrix chip prototype and a subsonic transmitter are all part of Brain's newest plot. He also has an extremely limited amount of time to pull it off. However, Acme Lab scientists throw him a stumbling block taking the chip and using it to upgrade the maze that the mice regularly have to run. Now, it is more dangerous than ever before.       • This episodes' plot strongly mirrors that of the Batman: The Animated Series episode "What Is Reality?", in which The Riddler traps Batman and Robin in a giant virtual maze. Warner Brothers produced both series, and Pinky and the Brain's voice director, Andrea Romano, held the same role on Batman.
